Hey guys! First post on these forums, sorry if I put it in the wrong category. I recently bought a 2020 Awd gt1 and was trying to get some advice on what the best air intake I could buy is? Going to be my first mod on the car and I want to get the best version possible. Thanks in advance!
There are a lot of good options for intakes, my favorite is the aFe Power Takeda intakes but you wouldn't good wrong with the Injen, BMS, K&N, or AEM intakes. I like the aFe Power Takeda intakes because they are the only aftermarket fully enclosed intakes for the Stinger GT. The real air intake restriction from the factory is the OEM air ducting. Changing to a ram air duct would help the OEM intakes as well as any aftermarket intake system.

Awesome, the aFe’s definitely look like they’re gonna be my choice, so you’re saying I should order these along with a ram air duct? Sorry if that’s a stupid question. I’m fairly new to nodding my cars, I’ve had one other fast car and it was already modded when I bought it. (Procharged 2008 SRT8 challenger)
Yes. If you want to most out of the intakes, you want to install ram air ducts. The posted some pictures of my car's engine bay and the front of it. The red ducts behind the grill are for funneling air directly into the intakes. I would recommend the ducts I have but they have been discontinued. The Velossa Tech ram air ducts work perfectly as well.
Welcome to the Stinger Forum and congrats on your new Stinger!
For intakes, the two most popular sellers are the Injen Intakes and the K&N Typhoon Intake System, which is what i rock on my Stinger GT1. You can find both options HERE. I like that the K&N's come with heat shields from the factory. But, some people like going with the Injens from a style perspective. Its down to your personal preference, and budget.

I have the AFE because I wanted something with an enclosed housing for dust/dirt (a given where I live with gravel roads) and also liked the fact it's a solid product. I did remove the "sound" plugs and you can hear the turbo's and blowoff. It's just not as loud as the K&N and Injen intakes. I consider those hot air intakes due to pulling underhood air instead of being ducted from the front. I know the stacks bring in air, but only when moving and the heat soak is an issue when it's 90+ outside. That's my take on what I have and why I went the route I did.

Not to sound nooby, but honestly I am nooby too so take it for what it is haha. You’re saying removing these sound plugs will make them louder correct? I’m about to order mine as we speak. Definitely love the turbo and blow off sounds but I wanna go closed housing as well because I live in West Virginia and driving conditions vary a lot of out here. Also gonna order a set of “lit kit” ram air ducts along with an add w1 twin oil catch can setup. The heat soak issue, you’re saying these are better with that compared to the others? If you don’t mind could you elaborate on that a little more for me lol I’m new to all this honestly. I actually just learned what heat soak is a day or two ago.
The plugs are rubber and about 2.25" in diameter. I'll show them in the pics below. It made the intake sound louder but not at the expense of exposing the entire filter to the engine bay. Here's some eye candy for you on the plugs and also what it looks like installed (on my 20 GT2).
