If it's not contacting the rotor I wouldn't be too concerned. You can always give it a push to ensure greater clearance.

I would be more concerned how it got like that.

Was hoping no one would say that. The only major change I’ve made to the car are new wheels and tires. 20x9 +35 with 255/35 all around. Hope it has nothing to do with that

Did you install the wheels? Just looks like someone lazy banged the wheels against them during install.

Had my tire shop install. I wasn’t watching over the entire time though. I didn’t take note of that right after install. It’s been about 2 weeks. Definitely a possibility though

Ask! That looks like crap. It'd drive me mad. (...der)

Yeah I’m as “OCD,” for lack of a better term, as they come with my car so I’m not in love with how that looks haha. As long as it’s not doing damage to anything or affecting the braking system I’m at least ok with it until I can get over there.

Bumping up an old thread: Was this issue ever resolved/figured out?

I just noticed that my front brake shields are also bent like the picture in the 1st post but throughout on both sides of the car. I have not done anything to my vehicle and the car is brand new at less than 2000 miles. So if this plate is damaged it is either the dealer's or Kia's fault. Between this and a weird noise coming from the front of my car, I am starting to become very concerned of the quality of my Stinger.

Here are some pictures for reference:

What your seeing is normal, I had my rotors upgraded recently & the fronts are like that.
The first 2 pics are the fronts & the last is the rear without the disc.

Hmm strange, is there a reason why the front shield is bent like that and not the rear?

It’s got me beat, both front shields are bent identical & it’s the same as the other posts photos so it is a normal look.
It may be just for inspection purposes, who knows.

Confirmed: even my "perfect" car has bent rotor shields. Not as extreme as the OP's, but definitely not straight. And I've decided that it doesn't bug me. :D
