OK, got an annoying issue that keeps popping up. Since I am working from home and not driving the car and considering the KIA is not my primary car, it sits in the garage a lot. However, just about each time I get in I get the following warning on the digital display:

Battery discharging due to external devices

Now I did have a few devices added (DRLs, LED scuff plates, and Sequential Reflector Lights) and am guessing its my LED scuff plates. I have noticed that sometimes when I open the driver's side door the plate will not illuminate. However, if I open the passenger door its plate will illuminate as it should and then the driver;s side will illuminate.

However, I did some searching thru the forums and found others having similar but different warnings as well. Some have mentioned dash cams or anything plugged in will cause this warning no big deal. Just curious if others are getting this message after having installed aftermarket products on their car. TIA

What I've read on here (I try to read all battery topics) indicates that aftermarket accessories can drain a battery over time if you don't drive enough. In that case, keep the battery on a constant low charge (like Great White North drivers do in the middle of their ridiculously cold winters).

So what your saying is I NEED to go drive the car to keep it from being a problem. Oh the humanity! :D I think that's a cure I can handle.

Yeah I thought about getting some kind of charger since I am not driving it that much. Where did you pick your charger from and how much was it?

Hi so I have an issue with my 2020 stinger gt2 the battery seems to drain overnight I don’t understand what’s causing the battery drain I drive it every two days but regardless the battery drains every single time I fit a warning on the dashboard one time telling me battery draining due to external device and I sometimes hear a funny noise when the car is parked around the hud area I don’t know if anyone has a similar issue and if it was resolved
