Nope no papers signed....this was a 52k car looked at the sticker on a pic I took of one just like the one I was dealing on though it was a black one...no dealer crap installed....lol....so yeah I left money on the table even at 52? Wash

Why not? It’s your money, if they want to sell you a car, they will work with you. Check other dealers as well to get some quotes, tell them what you are looking to pay and see what they come back with.

Woot woot Drove home in the gt2 last nite....a very painless and very nice experience at Central Kia.Chuck and Ed did what was needed and before I knew it they are rolling the car off the showroom floor....if I didn't know any better when I cobbed the gas a tad she took off like my vette...no way....buy im thinkin yes way...so after we got home and it was kinda late I texted Sal and got him up so we could talk about rebadging....everything will be overnited and here Saturday...Sal You're da man! what a nice person! so ive been reading all the books sheesh...almost time to go drive....lol Wash

A balloon loan has similar structure as a lease, but it's a loan and the car is titled in your name instead of Kia Financial. You're obligated to pay the balance of the loan (i.e. the residual) after 3 years - you can't just turn the car back in. Generally a bad idea, but if you're planning too buy out the lease right away, KMF will give you the lease incentives, it saves the hassle of retitling, and you don't have to pay lease acquisition fee or buyout fee.

Can you explain a bit more about the "Double tax" deal in Texas that you referenced? I'm in TX and looking at the Stinger as an option, but am unfamiliar with how Lease taxation works in TX.

He just means you pay sales tax when you purchase/lease the car, then again to the state on the purchase price, if you buy from the leaseholder/lessor, since they don't collect it on the buyer's behalf if they live in texass.

I haven't read this thread for a while but I just got back from my local Kia dealer here in Texas. I went there this morning to understand the various financing and incentive options. Once I got past the salesman, I met with a finance manager who explained the situation. He immediately talked about the double sales tax problem and how a balloon loan solves the problem. Although Kia financing charges a higher rate for a balloon loan, I'll either pay it off or just get a lower-rate loan at my credit union. Current lease incentives are ~$6800 and I'll avoid an additional $2800 sales tax on the car. He even recommended a different credit union that has even lower rates.

Washguy, How'd the rebadging work out? Did you use a body shop here in Plano/Dallas that you can recommend?.....or was it DIY?
I'm hoping to pick up a deal on a GT2 either here in Plano or up in McKinney by the end of December.

Ntx is off of Ohio j3ust past the Bush by coit.....this clear bra is monry well spent
If you wanna see mine or want an intro to Nate lemme know...he doesnt charge for rebadging if he does any part of fascia Wash

Washguy, thanks for the recommendation. I picked up my GT2 a couple weeks ago. A friend recommended Speed Shield in Addison but I'll check out NTX too. How much of the front-end did you cover on your Stinger?

Hi K Nate covered the entire front fascia including the black chrome the entire hood and A pillers...side vents..
