Badge Removal Tips

Wow. Removing the rear badge was definitely harder than anticipated. I used dental floss. And the plastic dynatron pieces in the YouTube video. After two boxes of dental floss I used the plastic pieces to lift each side. That thing wasn't meant to be removed ever. I broke the emblem in pieces pulling it off. Luckily the paint appears to be ok. When the emblem broke I thought I was screwed.

When I saw how much glue was behind the Kia emblem on the paint I thought maybe I would never get all that off and just have to buy a new Kia emblem. Getting all that glue off is another battle. I used goo gone and a microfiber towel and water for 2 hours and there is still an thin glue layer.

I’ve just done mine today … I must’ve got through about 50 yards of snapped fishing line … but the badge came off in one piece

There is slight marking in 2 ares of the paint work … but without doubt it was worth it

Thx for you post

Well I did my rear badge today. 22’ GT.

To my surprise, no pins! None at all. Just badge straight on the body. So that was a nice surprise. Made putting the rear script on a little easier.
