Hello, my 2022 GT has about 8K miles and the rotors are SHIT for the second time.
The dealer had to resurface the rotors at 6K miles as they warped, now they are bad again.
Dealer says this is a known issue with stock rotors. Anyone have this issue? What is a good rotor upgrade?
thnx
Chris

There's a huge thread on it here FAQ: Vibration under braking: warped rotors? NO!. Most likely the rotors are fine but the pads (stock pads are crap depending on how you drive) have left uneven deposits on the rotors causing what feels like warped rotors. Resurfacing the rotors resolves it briefly but can come back depending on a few things. Swapping out the pads for better aftermarket pads fixes the issues long term.

Rotors are not the problem. The PADS are! And rotors don’t warp. Dealers don’t know ish.

Go ahead and upgrade your rotors and leave the stock pad on. I guarantee you within the new few thousand miles, you’ll be back here and say my upgraded rotors suck.

Canada has a 60k km warranty for brake rotors....

I went through 4 free replacement rotor sets before changing to aftermarket pads right after my 4th replacement.(60k kms)

Some details here, good times .

And the pads I used are these.
Been great for the past 46,000kms - similar to OEM performance, with no pulsations.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
when the dealer resurfaced the rotors, I put

EBC Redstuff Ceramic Brake Pads

all around, rotors still starting to vibrate.

Did you just live with it, or found a fix?

2022 GT2 AWD 13K miles - been driving it like I stole it most of the time. Sport mode always and brake hard often. No brake issues. Is this just luck for me?

I believe driving hard helps keep pad deposits to a minimal.

I do a lot of commuting, and had constant pulsations with the stock pads which drove 4 completed sets of rotor replacements under warranty.

you are lucky, dealer told me they see it all the time.

Maybe it when my Stepfather

That makes sense...plus when my Stepfather taught me how to drive he always stressed easy consistent brake pedal pressure when possible. Regardless just glad I have not had this issue.

I have a little over 6k on my 2022. At one point I had slight vibration. When I noticed it the first thing I did was go out on a highway late at night, got up to speed and got on the brakes hard and with steady pressure. Did that a few times. Then drove for a while without touching the breaks, turned around and headed home. Haven't had any pulsing issues since. Been trying to be a little more purposeful when using the brakes but it can be tough when in lots of traffic.

I bought mine used, the service history was that the previous owner had the rotors replaced because of the issue shortly before trading it in. First thing I did was put StopTech pads on the front, and no issues since.

As Peter said, the issue is more than likely to be the brake pads rather than the rotors. I would advise against paying a ton of money for new pads. If you send us an email at Sales@K8StingerStore.com we can help you further assess the situation.

I'm pretty sure the 60k kms coverage on the rotors comes with a time limit of 3 or 4 years though doesnt it?

Beats me, I drive plenty, so only the distance applies to me.

3 or 4 years sounds fair
