true. that is why the german claim was generally met with skepticism.at some point the engine's power cannot overcome drag though.

There is no way in any universe a stock stinger is reaching 200 mph, unless it falls off a cliff....a really really high cliff!not true. there are plenty of rpms left at the speed limiter threshold. in addition to @StingerbyAdoom 's testimonial, I can offer a poster from germany years ago who claimed in excess of 200 mph, I want to say they claimed 208 mph, driving, not dyno. so 167 mph isn't going to tax 6th gear or even 7th gear because 167 mph is not the 'top speed' of the engineered 3.3l set up.
how could that be criticizing me when I was only relating a years old claim of some dude in germany? I don't believe it either, but his tuned stinger was going a lot faster than 167 mph we can take that to the bank....
Sorry if that came across as criticizing you....that was not my intent....just I have read that numerous times on this forum and just shake my head as to how that could even be possible in the real world.
Just didn't want to come across as an ass/know it all.how could that be criticizing me when I was only relating a years old claim of some dude in germany? I don't believe it either, but his tuned stinger was going a lot faster than 167 mph we can take that to the bank.
my own experience with 'mexico adventures' and a friend's comparative push to the limit tells me that there is a lot of additional speed without the limiter. it isn't the tires, since the 167 speed limit is with (y) rated michelin, in other words in excess of 186 mph.
yes. butt dyno is one of the most unreliable 'devices' employed.Just didn't want to come across as an ass/know it all.
Unless someone does a verified, two way, GPS verified run, then I am somewhat skeptical of significantly more than 167.
It would be interesting to see what an otherwise stock (iow only have the limiter removed) Stinger could do during Bonneville Speed Week.Just didn't want to come across as an ass/know it all.
