AWD in Phoenix

Hello, I am new to the Forum and about a month away from buying a GT2 AWD.
I just moved to Phoenix from Seattle - mid summer nightmare! My RAV4 is struggling with the AC on high every second driving down in "HeII" We hit record temps the week I got here -115!
Any AWD owners in Phoenix having any issues with the heat? Should I be looking for a RWD instead?
I need the AWD for road trips back to Seattle in the winter or up to my Northern cabin in Heber AZ.
Any advice would be appreciated!

You'll need some good tints out there. I have a Optima hybrid and it's AC gets cold in the DC heat so I think the Stinger will be fine there as well. They do tests these cars in extreme cold and heat.

Wait until the 2019s come out! I am in AZ with no problems. AC works great. But RWD.
