Guys I'm in need help of purchasing my first Kia stinger. I stumbled upon this listing on autotrader.com and theres a private seller selling his Stinger ceramic grey gt2 awd with 6k miles on it for $40k. So i texted the guy and he lives in South Bend, IN 46637 and i live in California. Upon asking questions why he selling the car he said he's 67 years old and has too many toys. But when i asked him how the process works to purchase the car he said i need proper id as in driver license name address etc... But when he said he needs the funds deposited in full and cleared in his bank before releasing the title and pick up for the delivery of the car thats when i got suspicious. Can this be a scam? Seems like $40k for a gt2 with 6k miles on it is too good to be true. THOUGHTS???

For 2k-3k more you can get a new one. Great deals can be had with the lease cash + man rebate. Just buy out the lease right away. If you decide to go private used, my advice is to fly to indianna with a cashier's check so you can verify/inspect the car. Make sure the title is transferred to you and watch it get loaded to a transport vehicle.

This forum is loaded with information on how to do the lease buyout and score 8900 in rebates on a gt2. Read up on how to buy a stinger. I've never leased before until now and I'm buying the lease out as soon as it becomes available on kia/hyundai finance online. I learned so much here I feel like I know more about how not to get screwed leading thab financing. The biggest thing is to learn the terminology and understand how each value is calculated.

Sorry the damn terminology is confusing lol. When you lease the car through kmf do I need a excellent credit score? And when you buy out the lease do you have to pay the car in full or you can get financed through kmf or your cc company ? My credit is average but I got between 6k-9k to play with for downpayment.

Kia Finance sets the credit score at 720 to get the best rates. If you intend to refinance after leasing, you can use your own sources.

What Paul said. You can get financing through your bank if you cant pay it in full. To get the new car rate from your bank, you need to buy out the lease immediately after it becomes available. Talk to your bank and tell them that you are planning on leasing the car then buying out the lease immediately.

I've been checking out some places for new car loans and as long as the car is under 7-8k miles it's considered a new car so you can get new car rates instead of a used car rates, of which lease buyouts would fall over if over 8K miles. Credit Unions have the best rates though. If you can score 10-15% off MSRP (most folks are listing up to 15% off but some play games so you can get 10 or better if you really work the deal), the lease cash can be up to $8900 off (or $9300 if you are military) on a GT2 AWD.

What do you mean when it becomes available? Sorry for all the questions I'm new to this whole leasing thing

When everything is updated in KMF database and it shows on their website after logging in. It's more like their processing time (should be a few days).

How long had you had your car before deciding to buy it out? I'm talking to a dealership in Atlanta right now about leasing a gt2 and getting it delivered here in cali. I dont mind waiting a week or 2 for delivery if the deal is worth it

SCAM! This is very common practice for scammers. I have even seen them pose as Ebay Motors sales, but it is simply to get you ID, bank account info and ultimately your money!

As soon as it hits you account on Kia Finance. Takes a little time for them to set it up.
Oh ok thanks. I'm talking to a dealership in Atlanta right now they have a brand new gt2 for lease for I think a great price.

Just leased mine last week and I'm currently waiting for the paperwork to show up on kia finance. I'm buying out the lease as soon as it becomes available.
