Question is, do the side mirrors with the auto dimming feature have an on/off switch? I couldn't find any info about it in the manual. It talks about the rear view mirror and it's auto dimming features, but not the outside mirrors.

I dont think so , in the border line up last week a guy in a large truck was directly in my mirror POV and it was blinding to the point that I manually adjusted my mirrors

The power button is the rear mirror on off button. All three rear view mirrors are powered on that one switch.

Can anyone tell me if the auto-dim side mirrors (GT2) are supposed to have a film that doesn't extend to the edges, or did my dealer forget to remove shipping material? If it's supposed to stay, I guess I'm also wondering about durability; probably don't want to use an ice scraper.

Edited: looks like it's part of the mirror.

Unless you bought some kind of extra protection that isn't on the GT2 mirrors, must have been extra packaging.

With it being such a new car maybe the detailer was worried of the same thing you are and didn't want to damage it by peeling.

No protection package. I bought it right after delivery, so it still had all of the plastic on it. The PDI was rushed, and I probably peeled off a dozen pieces of plastic on the interior over the next few days. I guess I'll look at this more closely in the daylight, and see if there are any markings on it.

My mirror (GT1) look the same way. I just assumed the dimming part doesn’t go all the way to the edge.

the dimming part doesn't go to edge. It was the same way on my legacy. Your mirror looks right to me.

Your side view mirrors are fine. Go to 31:10.

Just checked getting into work today and the other posters were correct that is the dimming part of your mirror. Apologies for the mix-up, it looks way darker in your picture than I've ever seen it before.

No worries, and thanks for confirming. I took that picture because the lighting conditions made the contrasting sections of the mirror really obvious. Hopefully this thread helps others, and prevents mirror damage from fingernails or ice scrapers.
