• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

If you are Orstraylyen and have a 3.3GT can you tell me if your car will stay in a fixed gear when running in sport mode

So if you are in sport and use the paddle shifters to select a gear does it stay in that gear while you maintain the same speed. Say 50 kmh in 2nd gear does it stay there if you keep at 50Kmh

Mine will change over to auto "D" in the above scenario after about 8 seconds. It seems as though according to some feedback on another forum that some overseas models do revert to auto and some don't

Just wondering what other Aussie owners cars do?

It always reverts on mine never holds a gear. That's the only con in most reviews about the car!

Agree with TJ....... .

Yup it’s not a manual and it will take over and shift unless you keep on top of it.

It still takes over. It’s my main gripe with this car. I’ve asked KIA twice now, and recommended we get a software update. Keep asking

And, if this was a solution to manual control, how does removal of traction control help?!!

Thanks guys it seems that at least they all behave the same as mine. I was a bit confused as some of the Canadian owners said it reverted and some said it didn't but at least out here it seems we at least all get the same calibration. Now if Kia could only fix up the poor gearchanging especially the auto downshifting at suburban speeds

You don't like the way our GT downshifts?

No not when like today I'm running in sport mode and slowing down for a suburban corner and it changes from 3rd to 2nd at about 30 kmh and my head jerks forward from the lower gear like I'd just done a compression lockup

It was as if I'd been driving a manual and just jammed it in a lower gear without any rev matching

Maybe you should have gotten a luxury car with a seamless feeling shift

I'm all for the sports shift that mine has up and down.
Kia done a great job.... .. IMHO

Well I don't know that sports shifting and seamless shifting are mutually exclusive. I'm sure that there are some cars that shift quickly and are quite smooth when doing it

Just not a Stinger

Goto Practical Motoring car reviews and they are clearly stating that all Kia stinger models with 2018 build offer manual override when in sport mode with ESC switched off.
This is an article writen by Isaac Dober on 29 may 2018.....I will test this today and report back here.....
