Hey everyone,
I have had my yellow stinger recalled to be repainted and have problems with gaining information on what’s going on. I was told the process would take 12 to 14 days and it has now been 2 months and I still am waiting. I have been really frustrated with the whole process and would like to know if anyone else is having issues?

Hi @ Rebecca, welcome to the forum, sorry to hear your frustration, there is literally volumes on this issue/subject to be read on this forum.
Also can you put your general location in your avatar, other members in your local vicinity maybe able to guide you where to go & who to see that may assist in you getting a resolution.

Thank you I’m a bit technologically challenged.

That’s ok, most of us are....lol, thanks for adding your location.
I would send your Dealer & Kia Aust. a detailed email with your timeline & outline your frustration & your need to have this addressed ASAP.

I’ve taken it further than that and sent one straight to the product planning manager as he made a quote in Motor that we as customers would be looked after and offered a repaint or a buy back and I was never given an option. Not that I would opt for a buy back because I love my car but it would have been good to have options. I’m not upset that they only offered repaint I’m upset that I have not been kept informed and the told me one thing and have done another.

Well you need to “rattle some chains” let them know how disappointed you are & you are distressed that you bought a new car & you feel abandoned with this issue & you may have to escalate your complaint further....run that up the pole & see how it flies, you may get some positive action.

Thats a good idea. Not sure whom I would send the next email too. But I have the COO name for Australia so maybe him. I hate that I’m even going to this extent as I don’t winge about anything normally so I’m way out of my comfort zone here lol. Thank you so much for your feedback

CEO works, even if you just CC him in, don’t feel out of your comfort zone you paid $65k+ for this car & your entitled to some sort of preferential treatment given this is Kia’s issue not yours, also ask what sort of additional compensation are they offering ie: accessories, free servicing, paint protection (when repainted) etc.
Happy to help, good luck & keep us posted on your progress, in the meantime enjoy the forum.

Will do thank you so much. Will keep you posted

If they repaint they also offer you $5000 compensation in addition to respray like they did in USA. Personally I would push for an exchange vehicle in another colour ie buyback as repainting will never be the same. Be wary of dealers as they will give you the run around . Go direct to kia in Sydney. Also everyone knows about the yellow issue and resale drops quicker. White, silver, and deep chroma blue least affected by paint chipping issues.
