Has anyone found a way to connect an external CD drive or similar device to the sound system in a 2022 Stinger which has only a USB external physical connection? I have tried a couple of Aux jack to usb adapters available on Amazon, but they don't work. I had to rent a Kia Soul a few weeks ago while my rat damage was being fixed (another story) and the aux jack in that model worked just fine. I don't understand why Kia cheaped out for 2022 and didn't include and aux connection.

Welcome. Moving this topic into our Stinger audio forum.

Cannot help you will your actual question but my question is why a CD player? Just rip your CD’s onto your PC & then download the music you want onto you mobile phone then connection issue will be solved, also no bulky player & CD’s to deal with.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
FWIW I was thinking of going the same route - I have a huge collection of CDs and want to listen to them in my Stinger. I ended up scrapping the whole idea and subscribing to Amazon Music - they have a huge library and you can listen to streamed music in the FLAC format which is lossless. They have a free trial if you want to give it a try. Something to think about.

Get a streaming service! 50+ Million songs and if you are an android user you can use the car's voice control for search. Don't want to use your data? NP -make your playlists "offline" and you won't use a any of your data plan

^^Most of you guys are not being helpful, the guy wants to play his CD's, not burn or stream...
OP, have you tried a Bluetooth adapter?

How about something like this? Wonder if that would actually work.

Unless it looks just like a FAT32 formatted device, I doubt it.

Again, unless a bluetooth supports a specific BT profile, I doubt it.
Seems the audio systems in cars support very few capabilities.

Get an AUX to bluetooth adaptor and use bluetooth.

When I commute I like to listen to audio books from my local library which come on multiple CDs, typically 10 or 12, or in a solid state format such as Playaway which outputs to a auxiliary jack (headphones). I cannot connect either of these to my Stinger sound system, and I don't want to have to rip 12CDs to a thumb drive every time I borrow a "book". The only alternative is downloadable audio books on my phone, but they don't seem to be as widely available through the library system.

I understand, have you tried the audiobooks app, surely that has a large selection.
