As title claims
Onramp romp with a slowpoke in a fast car becomes an ego bash.

Going down the road this nice red audi is just crusin

I come up behind and we proceed to maintain no less than 5 under for 1.5 miles to the freeway missin every light.

Cross the intersection and get onto the ramp

Our onramp has 2 lanes and the right dies out before the merge

He stayed right and when i naturally went for the pass (because of slowness) he steps on it too

The audi farts in an odd manner when it shifts hard.

I didn't pass him but i did quickly aquire driver door and let off becasue im not an a**hole and his lane was ending.

He stayed slow lane untill i lost him in the mirror

oooooooooooooooooooo good job and great kill cowboy! :D

They're solid fun cars those S4's though! Any guess on his year and mods though? :)

Idk if that's a kill...seems he wasn't interested in racing and was just being a dick, trying to stop you from passing.

As for specs, stock v stock from a roll I think Stingers and B9-B9.5 S4/S5 are pretty much identical. From a dig vs RWD Stinger the Audi wins. From a dig vs AWD Stinger, the Audi wins but by less.

They really are very closely marched cars.
0-60: Audi 4.2. Kia 4.4
1/4 mile. Audi 12.8. Kia 12.9.

Completely agree with your assessment!

I was looking at a CPO 2018 S4 as one of the cars I was cross-shopping and during the test drive it definitely felt much stronger on the launch...

Very impressive for the Stinger to keep up with the Audi being as they have such a massive price-point difference.

:D

Thank you for the assessment, i am only here to share happenings. I believe the audi driver was having a bad day. Saw it driving today again but i was on the Ducati so just waved.

I only said 'ego bash' because it seemed like a block more than a race :)

A stock RWD Stinger should start slowly walking away from a S4 on a roll in my experience. They don't have much up top. From a dig, the S4 wrecks faces. Quattro gets you out of the hole with a purpose.

Invite him out for some tea and coffee then :p

I traded in a 2014 Audi S4 (which was supercharged) for a 2018 Stinger GT1. The “farting” from the DCT with hard acceleration was pretty funny.
Quattro (with the sport rear differential and wider stock 245 tires) gives the S4 spectacular grip....even when taking turns too aggressively there was no need cut to cut power. Overall though, I prefer the Stinger. For example, the DCT had a nasty driveline lash when manually downshifting from 2nd to 1st. Also the DCT had the reputation of super quick shifts but the Stinger’s transmission is pretty darn close.

If only the stinger had the s3/s4 launch. Even more disappointed not even the 2022 models have better launch control. I don't think the AWD systems can handle the heat and torque.

In Mexico: 10 mph roll raced vs an s4. he was modded and said he was stage1 about 300+ to the wheels. wasn't even close I walked him no problem. was going to do a dig but traffic was up in front and I didn't think I had enough room so I backed off. They do get off the line quickly but I probably have an 80 hp advantage over him so I would have caught up. edit got the pick of the car but the actual video of me gapping him was overridden already

Great job!

Although I will admit I have always been a huge S4 and S5 fanboy! :D

I remember getting a ride in an older S4 (2006 or 2008 car I think?) back when they had the V8 and it had an amazing aftermarket exhaust on it. Sounded fantastic! :) I remember another time test-driving an S4 with manual transmission (2012 year car) and loved it. Very impressive machines indeed! :D

The B9 finally has a tuning option from Apr. Jb4 stinger vs apr s4, the stinger has a pretty big advantage ( close to 50ftlbs and 30 ish hp ).

The one pictured looks pretty old. It's probably a 2010ish car, which will have that supercharged V8. It sounds good but doesn't make the power we'd expect from a forced induction V8, nowadays.

Nope he was the 3.0t. it sounded good but not v8 good. He had an exhaust so it would have been pretty obvious if it was a v8.

You're right. I was thinking it was a B7 with the 4.2l but I think that's just because his car is so dirty. Looks like he even removed the "Supercharged" badging from the fender.

Pretty crazy to think how we have V6's nowadays (even naturally aspirated ones) pushing significantly more power while remaining lighter and more fuel-efficient than V8's from just a decade or so ago! :p
