Ark exhaust install and impressions

Ok put my deposit down on the Ark grip cat back exhaust from the U.S of A, 10-14 days lead time. Hoping for little or no drone that I've been reading about.
Look forward to hearing it when you get it fitted....by the way is it a metric or imperial system...

I'll let the agent and importer and ultimately the fitter of the product worry about that. The sound will be interesting, lets see if its all its cracked up to be?

Yes the sound will be interesting, I hope this will fit RHD.

I'm guessing it will as when I contacted Ark in the US they listed one dealer in Eastern creek in Sydney as there NSW distributor so to speak. Chatting to this guy he said he had installed 45-50 units to various cars with the Ark grip exhaust. I'd be amazed if they ordered it incorrectly. As I haven't given them a specific part number I guess the onus would fall on the distributor for any ordering errors. I wasn't aware exhaustS were "Handed" RHD OR LHD?

You do realize that two people on this thread have modified their Arks to make them quieter. I changed the mufflers and another person added a muffled cross over pipe. But, If you like a loudish exhaust the Ark sounds great.

Modding a brand new cat back exhaust ?????...no way !!.....IMHO.....my respects for those who have made modifications......
I'll wait until some exhaust manufacturer makes one with no drone, cabin loud noise free and estate the HPs gains........

Perfect thank you that's what i'm looking for, each to their own.

There is nearly always two camps, its a bit like the Ronaldo v Messi debate- no ones wrong :):)

Wonder if my Tubi with mid pipes and Valvetronic with be relatively drone-free? I’ll post a video when installed in mid June. I’m worried with all of the drone discussion going around.

Please do so. I will be eagerly waiting.

Not amused Ark are out of stock of the ark grip exhaust to suit the Stinger until late June-early July. Obviousy popular at the moment. Ba humbug Has been on order two weeks already.

So its been 3 weeks since i got my ark exhaust and paired with k&n intakes and the jb4. Now in my few weeks i gotta say i love this thing, it sounds amazing no matter what mode ur in, now if u drive in manual mode as i do, ur gonna notice a lot of little pops and gurgling type noise. Which going full throttle espcially at about 4600rpm it sounds like a damn sports car(not sure which one) it just sounds amazing, the videos dont do it justice. That being said, it is pretty loud, so beware, if u drive like cruising u probably wont mind it too much. Ive experienced very little drone at the beginnijg, now ive eiyher gotten use to it or just have no more. Either way i love it

I guess my exhaust (if it turns up) will probably sound different to yours as i don't have the jb4 or the k&n intakes. What are your thoughts? Or assumptions?

Neither of those mods will do much to alter the sound of the exhaust.

Thats good to know thanks, i like that Ark sound. Will post a clip when it arrives. Will be interesting to hear if it sounds the same, maybe the rarefied southern hempishere atmosphere will improve its sound further:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Thanks Jd, i guess you get what you pay for thats why i opted for the Ark. The quality and engineering read well. I,m hearing on another thread while the Borla sounds good it appears to many to have a lot of drone. Im sure the Ark will suffer far less. Cannot wait:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Any updates I the Ark after long term use?

I want the Ark but with two small kids, it makes me hesitate because of the drone

Maybe I’ll do the Thermal R&D

Well ive only put about 1500k and so far so good, could not have been more pleased with this purchase

Had mine for 3 months, 4K miles, and three extended (i.e., 500+ mi) road trips. BLUF: totally satisfied with the quality and sound of the Ark. It’s potent without being obnoxious. The neighbors don’t toss the death stare and the wife (while not her thing) isn’t especially bothered. Day to day, it’s a great exhaust. I don’t do any highway driving for my commute. And any interstate driving I do is very brief.

The long trips were illuminating. There is a very persistent and pronounced drone at 1800 RPM when crusing. It did seem to fade into the background at times, but maybe I just went deaf. As good as it sounds, if I did a ton of interstate travel, I’d probably go back to stock.

Ark.....option erased from my exhaust list.........Thanks Dark_Night GT for your honest comments.....
