I have the MBRP exhausts with tips and I love the exhaust tone. I’m wanting to install my downpipes but I’m wondering if I would need resonators or are the tips enough to control the drone that a lot of people are talking about when installing downpipes. I just don’t want to buy resonators and I end up not using them. Can anyone chime in?

Well drone is all subjective. I ran MBRP with the ARK secondary , it changed the tone sum. I liked it.

Fair, drone is subjective. I guess, I’ll just get them installed and we’ll see if I like them. If I don’t, resonators will be next lol

Adding tips got rid of the drone for me.

How about the rasp that some people are saying?
Tips took most of that away. Again rasp is subjective, unless I'm actually hearing what your saying, hard for me to tell you. I'm 67, I don't like loud exhaust, MBRP was just right for me. Especially when the tips were added 63x105 oval for me.

Okay. Looks like I’ll be installing the pipes tomorrow and I’ll see if I like the sound. I understand rasp is subjective as well. I’ll try and get a video if anything. But thanks again for the info.

It’s sorta loud in the cabin after install. I’m wondering if the tone will become lower once it “breaks in” or will this tone be like this forever?

it will settle after a while, but wont be a huge difference

I’m going to pull the trigger on the MBRP resonators. My question is, can I simply just slide them in or do they need to be welded?

Add tips that clamp onto the exhaust pipe or use exhaust tape to close of the gap. After adding tips to my car drone dropped significantly.
