Are you going for the twin turbo 3.3 liter V6 or the 2.0 turbo four?

Okay well I think I just asked my question in the title of this message. So what is it going to be for you? What do you think the price difference will be between both engines? I'm guessing the 2.0 will be lighter with a better weight ratio from front to back and the better handling vehicle. Unless they're doing something special with the suspension in the 3.3 liter V6 model. Thoughts?

Does anyone wish a manual would be available?

The twin turbo V6 is a no-brainer for me. I'd expect to see about a $6k price differentiation, just because that's how marketing works. You're surely right that the turbo 4 would have a more balanced weight distribution. But I think that the difference would be pretty small, and I'm skeptical how much it matters given the size of the car.

I'd like to do the 2.0 liter turbo four cylinder so I hope there are a few things that it'll be better at. I'd like the car to handle better but it was pointed out in another discussion thread that the wheelbase it quite long for being a good handling car. Then again maybe Kia is getting better at making high performance suspensions. Maybe they'll surprise everyone with a car that really does handle well.

I see what you're saying. Since the car is already big as it is, a little less weight from a smaller engine won't make too much of a difference. $6k isn't really too bad considering how much more powerful the twin turbo V6 is. The 2.0 liter turbo four cylinder is already being used in various Kia models. Right? If so, are there tunes available for it yet? I wonder which car will have good tunes first. I imagine the 3.3 liter twin turbo V6 will get a lot of tuner attention but it's such a new motor that it may be awhile before we see anything. I'm pretty sure somebody is working on a tune now for the Genesis cars.

$6k. That's not too bad. Yes, it's a no brainer for me as well. I'm cross shopping the Stinger with a G60 so I do want that torquey feeling of a twin turbo V6. As time goes on I'm leaning toward a sedan. I have no problem going from one extreme to another. I've gone from a Lincoln Town Car to an Audi A4 to a Tahoe. Whatever the flavor of the day is, I'm good with. :)

For me it would have to be the TT 3.3 liter V6. I've only had one car with a manual and while it was nice - it's not a necessity to me. I prefer luxury cars and the convenience of an automatic to any imaginary advantage of a manual transmission. I do realize some of the fun factor is gone with an automatic but I spend far more time in my car where I'd rather be concentrating on other things than shifting. Especially in traffic...

I think I'll be looking at the smaller engine as I never felt the need for more power over my current Optima. As long as it looks the same I'm happy. I love the way the car looks inside and out. I sat in a Mercedes CLA one time and the Stinger really reminds me of that car on the inside. I like it.

I bet the Stinger will be geared well enough that it feels pretty quick even for the 2.0T engine.

i definitely want the 3.3 liter but i've seen some pretty impressive 2.0t builds so my decision will partially be made based on what aftermarket performance options are available when the stinger is available.

I'm revisiting this topic and a few others. Anyone here going for the 2.0T?

V6 here.

I'm still planning on the turbo 4cyl. I think most people here are serious car people and want the twin turbo v6.

The engine is already used in several Kia models such as the SX trims of the Optima and Sportage. Yes, there are already tunes on the market for the 2.0T. A standard OTS map, on a completely stock vehicle, is seeing gains of 50 whp and 35 wtq. A good number of the US-based Kia/Hyundai tuners are either a satellite or authorized dealer for a KDM tuning company. Since the Stinger will hit the market in Korea first I expect they will likely start the process there, which should decrease the time it takes to have a US market tune up and running.

It will be 3.3T AWD for me....I will probably not be able to stay away from a tune once it is available so I need all the traction I can muster.

i want that v6 but i guess that all depends on the price. ill be okay with the 2.0t since not too long ago i was looking into the 2.0t ats. manual transmission? no thanks lol. my current car has it and it gets annoying. very soon ill be driving a 10 speed for 8+ hours a day so ill be wanting to get into a nice auto after my shift.

I totally agree , while I do enjoy shifting in a manual transmission vehicle it gets tiresome after a long periods of driving especially in traffic. I would rather get the V6 its a no brainer to me, more power all wheel drive plus an extra turbo.

TT V6 here (GT) too. Auto will be more than fine.

I think the base model 2.0L turbos (both petrol and diesel) may miss out on the adaptive dampers (i.e. adjustable suspension with drives modes) to be found in the hotter V6/GT. So it's a bold statement to say the 2.0 will handle better ...from the factory, anyway.
