What is an aggressive driver to you? My girlfriend says I am, I say I am not. I do not care much about zero-to-sixty. I rarely exceed the highway speed limit more than 10-15mph. But I cannot abide being behind a car that is more than one or two car-lengths behind the vehicle in front of them. It's a form of torture to me and I'll use the Stinger's capabilities to the fullest to get away from the offending vehicle and fill that gap.

Apparently this makes me an aggressive driver, until I remind my girlfriend that she drives a Nissan Rogue and drives like a girl.

Aggressive driving is defined as the behaviour of an individual who "commits a combination of moving traffic offences so as to endanger other persons or property"

You do 10-15mph over highway speeds. So 55-85 mph.

And stay 1-2 car lengths behind vehicles.

Yup you’re an aggressive driver. I’d use other words but it’s against forum rules.

Really? You'd like to call me a perjorative name because I'll drive 65mph on the highway? Why is it exactly that you drive a high-performance sports car? You are welcome to label me an aggressive driver, I asked the question after all, but I hardly think it's deserving of an insult. I only meant to spark a little discussion, isn't that why we're here?

I think the "But I cannot abide being behind a car that is more than one or two car-lengths behind the vehicle in front of them." kinda sort of shows just a wee bit of passive aggression.. :P

Do everyone a favour and enjoy the ride instead of stressing.

Yep, sounds aggressive to me.

Why is that THE definition?

Mine: Aggressive driving is taking full advantage of perceived opportunities to place oneself in relation to surrounding traffic. A passive driver will always let everyone have "the space". A passive-aggressive driver will actively inhibit others that the P-A determines are in the wrong, and has perceived that they want something. Most often this manifests when the P-A sees a tailgater hanging onto their bumper, and the P-A goes slower and slower, just to teach the tailgater not to do that to ME; and if it pisses off the tailgater, the P-A has his/her reward.

I drive aggressively. And in this car I am ruthless about taking what I want. But, I do not endanger anyone: I do not do risky, stupid things. Illegal? Well, technically yes: I speed to get to where I want. But, I also drive normally keeping under ten above.

It's on the Internet. It must be TRUE! Google. Well, Heh! I trust those people about as far as they are to the left. :D

NOT YOU !you're fine ............and honest too !

Oh, well thank you. There must be something to the aggression label, I get a little testy when I'm being insulted. But I try not to be a jerk on the road while admittedly being impatient. My road-sense is more aligned with Merlin's. Basically I try to go as fast as possible all the time, within the limits of traffic, the car, and my abilities. Just not a doddler, that's all.

Go re-read my entire post. I didn’t say you were aggressive for driving 65mph.

It's fine, man. The speed limit around here is 55 or 65. I'm going fast if I'm doing 75. That's not really qualifying to be an a-hole, which is what you seemed to be implying. But I retract my statement and sue for peace. I like this place and don't want to cause trouble.

Be yourself , dont change your approach , give some people a whistle and a big flashlight and they think they are really in charge around here !Barney-Fife.webp

I don’t think anyone thinks you are causing trouble. You asked for people’s opinions, you are getting them.

If someone is doing 65 mph and 1-2 CAR LENGTHS behind the car in front of them, and makes a point to get in the gap between two cars if the gap is more than 2 cars, that person is driving like an a-hole.
