Are AWD and LSD mutually exclusive?

Off topic, but what happened?
I just think they have stagnated a little bit. Plus as the hondas got nicer and nicer, there wasn't a huge difference between them to justify the extra price. I would give my left nut for the new nsx though..

Ya, they seem to be focusing on the MDX & RDX. Their sedans need some turbo.

Has anyone seen any irrefutable proof from Kia that the AWD does not have LSD? Or is it mechanically impossible?

It is not mechanically impossible.

All of Kia's documentation says the AWD does not have LSD, but torque vectoring instead..

Confused...are AWD and LSD mutually exclusive?

The Canadian Genesis G70 (the Stinger's corporate cousin) will have both the LSD and AWD. We do not know if that will also happen for the US model.

The Type S is slated to return and there will be an "Acura exclusive" 3.0TT V6 that will be paired with the 3rd Gen SH-AWD system. Honda/Acura appear to be listening..........

Acura to revive Type-S with brand-exclusive turbo V6

If one tire is spinning faster than the others under power, that wheel has less traction than the other tires. Braking on that wheel will force the open diff to send power to the other wheel that has more traction. It accomplishes the same thing as a LSD, only in a different way.

My biggest issue with the brake-based systems is as your brakes wear from normal use (or in excess from track use) the effectiveness of the system can impacted. With that said, in cars that added the brake based system (WRX/STI) it has made an impact on how fast you can hustle one around a track.

So would I. Maybe I'll get one in 15 years or so when my kids are gone lol.

Ok, so do we know for absolute sure that the stinger AWD does not have the LSD? I find the documentation to be ambiguous on the subject.
