April Sales Announced , Stinger - 939 units

That's...not great. YTD down significantly.

needs to be measured against the segment , car sales are dropping like a stone , Someone with more time can chart the 3/4 series . Audi S4 etc and then we can assess how the Stinger is doing , Look at the Telluride , WOW out of the gate and well over 5000 units per month

A performance, smallish suv with the 3.3TT would do well I think, wonder if KIA has something like that in the works

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
It looks like cars themselves are down 7.9% this month across the board vs. a slight gain for trucks. Also compared to last year it has to compete against the G70 which probably brings down the numbers a fair amount.

Another interesting thing to compare it against is the Chevy SS. The Stinger total sales have already far surpassed the total sales of the Chevy SS over its whole run in the US.

Still I wish it sold more to better reward Kia for making fun cars like this.

I know I'm in the minority but I actually don't want Kia to sell a ton of Stingers. I enjoy the exclusivity. I loved being the first in my old town to have one. I loved that I never saw any when I moved to my current location. I hate that I see a blue, red, and ceramic silver around my house a couple of times a month.

I know it's a selfish view, but as far as I'm concerned the less the better.

But they're more inclined to cancel the platform if it doesn't perform well.

There's a balance going on, I believe. The Stinger is a statement, a proof to the automotive world that Kia has arrived: they can make a car that attracts attention in a game changing way. The sales don't have to be big. A steady increase in total Stingers on the road works for them. When somebody is looking to buy a Kia, the sales person can always point to the Stinger as proof that Kia's tech and performance and reliability are equal to the best, especially for the money. Even when the sale is a less impressive model, the Kia buyer enjoys knowing about the Stinger, the model that impresses everyone.

I know. And because my view on this is admittedly selfish I'm fine with them doing so.

The K900 sells like in the literal dozens and Kia not only keeps bringing it here, they just refreshed it. Also remember that Genesis is getting off the ground now and starting to move G70s which can cannibalize Stinger sales some. And Kia seems to still be updating the Stinger and making limited editions... I don't see it going anywhere.

Sweet report...bring on the incentives and discounts!!!!!

Our two biggest selling vehicles are Utilities (pick ups) the Toyota Hilux & Ford Ranger. This show you where the market segment is heading. SUVS are at the top to.
Stingers as a rarity suits me fine, I haven't seen one in a week which is unusual.

OMG!...the Stinger is a complete failure........lol.

It is a fun aspect of having this car, that we actually look for other Stingers. The only other time I looked for a particular model was back when VW Bugs and microbuses were so common that we created "Beetle 2, Beetle 4" as a points game on road trips: each Bug was 2 points and each microbus was 4 points. Imagine how annoying that would be to us if, in short order, Stingers became common enough to play a points getting game.
