I have only seen this happen so far with my Apple CarPlay and not in the Alia Menu. When inside of the Apple CarPlay menu, a lot of my touches on the screen register as a long press. This usually triggers the Siri which is SO ANNOYING. I don’t know if anyone has the same issues.

I see there's been no traction on this, but I'm having a similar issue. Although mine doesn't really trigger Siri that much, it just acts as though I've "long pressed" or held down on an icon, and then the icon gets grayed out (sort of "stuck") and I have to touch somewhere else on the screen to make it correct itself. Sometimes when I click on something, it won't actually click it because it's "undoing" the previous grayed out character somewhere on the screen. It's been doing this since new, but after searching through some other Stinger Apple CarPlay issues (e.g. CarPlay shutting down / not working for days at a time - which I'm not experiencing) I figured I'd leave it alone since it appears to be the lesser of two evils.

This exact thing is happening to me in my 2019 GT2 and it’s driving me nuts. I just got the car three weeks ago. I’m thinking of trying a wireless CarPlay adapter to see if it fixes it. If it doesn’t I’m going to seriously consider switching to android.

Please let me know if this fixes it.

I did try a wireless CarPlay adapter at one point but it didn’t work. I might end up going to the dealer to get it straightened out. Let me know if your wireless CarPlay adapter solves the issue in case it was just the one I tried that didn’t work.

I mentioned it to my dealer but they would have to do a diagnostic and it will not be covered under warranty since this falls under radio (mine expired). I am just going to live with it for now unless a cheap fix is available.

I paid for the additional warranty coverage for $7/mo. which includes all of the electronics. I’ll see if my dealer can diagnose the issue and post here if they’re able to solve it.

Were they able to figure it out at the dealership?

I was going to post this but figured I was just crazy.

It shows up most often when hitting the app split-screen icon in the lower left corner of the screen -- the one that puts Waze on the left half and Pandora on the right, in my example. I researched more about that icon and found it activates Siri with a long press. But I'm *barely* pressing it and half the time Siri still activates.

So now I have to "lightning tap" that icon and pray Siri doesn't come up. First world problems, I know, but it's still annoying AF.

I get Siri interrupting me all the time without pushing or saying anything. I even turned off listening for Siri and only activating with a long press of the side button on the phone. It doesn't make a difference, but Siri is getting smarter.

I said, "I didn't ask for your help, dumbass!"

Siri said, "That's not nice!"

I laughed.

This is why I switched to Android. Granted I don't mind it android so it was easy for me to do.

I have a 2019 Kia stinger Premium. A guy on reddit told me he had a 2019 base that didn't have the issue, he upgraded to a 2019 GT2 and has the issue there.

Where is Kia Australia and some helpful hints to address crap connectivity between iPhone and the Stinger on board instruments. Silence is not golden

I'm having apple carplay issues with my 2018 premium also. I purchased it in 2018, but it just started happening this year. Siri was responding randomly, which i never use siri and now the screen goes black sometimes when maps is playing through my phone. Took video of it and went to the dealership, of course it did not happen while there so they said there was nothing they could do. Watching to see if anyone finds a solution.

Yes - it was so bad and frustrating that I have switched to listening only through bluetooth. Have had NO issues since doing so. Apple Maps stays displayed on my phone and the audio prompts come through the car speakers. Zero interruptions from Siri. Zero black screens and switching between carplay screens randomly without any touches. Has anyone used the wireless carplay adapters succesfully? I'm not sure I need it anymore, but we will see. 2018 GT2.

Just wanted to bring this thread back to life. Im having the same issue with my 2018 Stinger GT Limited (GT2). It is definitely ghost touches on the screen. I have tried all sorts of things and nothing works. Im just going to try and get the screen replaced under my extended warranty.
