I leased a new 2019 Ceramic Silver GT1 w red interior like 5 months ago.

It had an Msrp of $47k.

I put like $3500 down and my payment is $498/mo.

I have like 30 payments remaining. Mileage is 12,000 miles per year.
The car only has 3,000 miles on it so it is well under 12,000 mile per year pace.

Leasing the car was not a smart financial decision on my part. I already have a Hellcat & a Prius and my wife has a Mercedes SUV, so definitely did need the Stinger but I fell in love with it and had to have it.

I may be willing to let it go now. It has the best color combo out there - ceramic silver/red seats. When I bought it there were only 2 of this combo in all of Southern California. Let me know if any of you may be interested. Thanks.

Hellcat and Prius; there’s 2 words you don’t often see in the same sentence. Good luck with the lease mate. Maybe some pics of the interior might whet people’s appetites?

What would you look to sell it for? Do you know the payoff value? I'm on the other coast, so it might not make sense, but I'm in the market for that exact model/combo.

What do you think is fair?

I'd say $20K would get 'er done. I'll even fly over and wash your Prius and fill up your Hellcat as an extra incentive.

No, seriously, since I think a decent number of people here might be taking advantage of the lease cash and then buy out afterwards (as am I), wondering where yours would come out versus buying new with this strategy. If you had a nice lease cash allowance when you bought it, you might do pretty well to buy it out and then turn around and sell it? You might get more interested parties on a used purchase versus taking over a lease?

But I'm no expert on this process, so take my questions with a grain of salt.

There's websites such as leasetrader, etc to get out of your lease that you could try. There aren't any Stinger's on there so you could probably roll out of it pretty quick and your lease is decent as it's close to 1%.

My payout is like $38k but I'd like to get more than that as I now have put like $6k into it.

RWD or AWD? What'd you spend the $6K on?

RWD. I put $3500 down and have made 5 or 6 payments of $500 each.

Just FYI: while I'm in (Nor)Cal and interested in a Stinger, I'm not interested in your car - I want AWD, and personally, the red interior makes me nauseous - I've passed over several good deals with red interior.. I say this, so no one thinks I'm trying to lowball you on the sly or something.

You can't expect to get back your purchase / paid-so-far price - there's a thing called depreciation. You probably lost $2-5K the day you drove it off the lot, depending on how much of a discount / lease cash amount you negotiated. Buyout is somewhat of an approximation of what your car is worth now. You're going to have to face reality - I'm looking at new '19 GT1 AWD Stingers for ~$38-40K after lease buyout. RWD should be approx $36-38K new, although maybe not that exact color/interior combination. Why would I pay more for a used car with half the warranty? Of course, if you can find that one guy who wants the red interior with the ceramic exterior, you may be in luck.

If you need to get out of a bad financial situation, your best bet is to contact Vroom, Carvana and CarMax and see what their offers are and take the best one, or offer it to someone privately for around the same amount.

If you can find this color combo (#1 desired) for a better price, go get it. I worked very hard to get this lease deal. The only other dealer in state that had this color combo couldn't come within $2000 of my deal.

Not expecting to. I am perfectly fine losing $5k.

Interesting that the shifter in the GT1 is different than in the GT2

err.. yes. The GT2 is "shift by wire", no mechanical linkage.
