Anyone get the bumper vent DRL LEDs?

bench test. the white LEDs are failing
Ahhh I see. Seems like me and you are the only ones with this issue. Nobody else has chimed in on this thread so far.

Mine have an inch of water behind the lenses. I took a picture and sent it to Chris. He said he’d replace them for me, but never heard back.

Reached out to him coincidentally on the 14th and haven’t heard anything.

Does he still make these lights? Assuming there’s not much of a demand anymore.

I never even got a response from the webform I submitted

I'm pretty sure I read on one of the FB groups that he is dealing with personal health issues so this venture is on hold.

I'm thinking of opening them up with a cutoff tool to see what is going on. Odd that the amber works and not the white in some areas. Wondering if the wiring could be damaged.

Are these the lights that I would purchase if I just wanted to turn or replace my normal DRLs to amber lights? I keep seeing these every time I look up “amber DRLs Kia Stinger”. I don’t want anything fancy, I just really like the look of the amber DRLs on the K5 and Telluride. I just want to take my white ones that are always on and make them amber.

No. The drls are white only. These lights are amber only when you are turning. They are switchbacks so they are white when running then turn amber when turning, then switchback to white.

Not sure how durable they are long term though as mine I've only had on the car for a year and a half and some lights are out as I mentioned in my above posts. That's a lot to spend for lights that haven't lasted very long imo.

Turns out LEDs don't like water. Or the white LEDs were crap.

Still no word from Chris?

Hmph. I’ll give it another shot.

Even if he has advice on how I can best repair them myself I’d appreciate that.
I didn't install mine myself so idk what I'm gonna do in the long run. The $400 probably woulda been better spent on something else. Never really had this happen before. Spending that kinda money on a part only for it to fail not even 2 years later.

I was looking into these CK71 LED Fog DRL Switchbacks kia stinger and was curious how they looked\worked. Anyone try them out yet?
I had them installed at the dealership in Nov 21, before I even took possession of my car.

I love the look and they worked great until last Sept. One of the lights is only illuminating at about 50% brightness.

I did get ahold of Chris (who was super receptive) and was in the process of getting a new unit sent out as he had no issues with honouring the warranty.

Unfortunately just shortly after, he shared the news that his wife was diagnosed with cancer, and that he would be putting everything on hold in order to focus on his family.

Hopefully she is getting the care and treatment that is needed to fight this battle. Ironically my wife is also battling cancer, so I totally understand the toll that this disease can have on a family and why everything else has to take a back seat.

I read on another site that Chris might be resuming buisness in the next month or two, so I hope that’s a good sign.

I would definitely recommend purchasing these lights (once production resumes) as they really complement the front end of the Stinger….and they are practical as well.

Just came to this site looking to see if anyone else has this issue….so count me in. My passenger side has a couple of the LED’s not working and the light is only around 50% as bright as the drivers side.
Was hoping to see if anyone has found a way to fix them.

Your's are in much better shape than mine.

Sorry to hear that his wife has cancer, I kinda feel stupid now wondering what was going on as I never received a response from him via email.
