Ok so I was asked to reply here, and I agree it's in the best interest of all parties going forward. Things aren't always as they seem, especially when "speaking" over the internet. I will be very forthcoming in that I'm a New Yorker through and through--even to a fault. Some of what I say may come off as abrasive or confrontational, but I assure you it's not my intent. Not in the least. I've been dealing with a much younger demographic over the past several years and I should take into consideration that the Stinger market is a bit more seasoned in life. As such, I'll do my best to clarify my meaning as best as possible going forward. I'll do my best to address some of what was said here and hope to clear things up...
Lol $1500 i guess if you want junk, not talking cheap lips and stuff. But everyone has right to own opinion, so noted.
It's not unreasonable to expect the absolute highest fiberglass quality for the $1500 price range. I deal with one of the best bodykit manufacturers on the entire North American continent, Sarona Design, and the overall quality of materials that they produce (fiberglass, carbon fiber and polurethane) is all as top-class as one could ask for. Similarly, the fitment of their products is almost always spot-on--especially when it comes to newer cars where body flex hasn't taken anything out of the origin spec of the vehicle. My company sells numerous Sarona-manufactured products for several different vehicles and their track record is stellar. Also, back in my younger years, I worked at a fabrication shop that did custom bodywork, so I have tons of experience with this type of work. In fact, I still do contract design work on rare occasions to this day. That means I know what it takes to create a kit such as a widebody flare kit from scratch.
When I say that $6000 is a joke, what I simply mean is that it's a demand of a brand name or individual designer who has next to nothing to do with the overall quality of the end product. Additionally, like I said above, I know all about this type of work and can guarantee that estimated price tag is inflated quite a bit. Think of it this way...if Ferrari made an identical car to a Civic using the same exact components and slapped a $500,000 price tag on it, would many people be able to justify purchasing it just for the label when you can get an identical Civic with the Honda logo on it for $20,000? Now add on top Ferrari demanding 15 people pay for their version of the car or it's not going to get made. To someone who's done this before and has first-hand knowledge of the costs relating to manufacturing, that's borderline insulting. Trust me, I'd love to get a few grand for flares, but if I'm being realistic, that's a ridiculous markup and I simply wouldn't feel honest pricing them that high. The $1500 range is perfectly reasonable as an estimate on an identical product of the same or better fit and the same or better quality. That's why this is based less on opinion and more on first-hand knowledge and experience.
Or just go read Greddy reviews...vs Importshark reviews. I know most want quality not price. Will let google speal for itself.
I would appreciate you not dredging up drama from the past. What's in the past can and should stay there. This is a different company now--a MUCH different company with different people and procedures. I'm not even the original owner, in fact. Also, you really can't believe much of what you randomly read on the internet because I can tell you that at least 75% of what's out there about us is either completely fake or blown way out of proportion. I've seen some of what's on Reseller Ratings and it's not even about my company! There just happens to be an Ebay vendor whose account is named "Importsharkstore", and I've been trying for years to get him or Ebay to change it. That store sells primarily Extreme Dimensions (aka Duraflex) products, which, if you ask me, are all completely garbage. Yes, we've had some problems, but that's primarily way in the past--either that or could be easily explained. Nowadays, we have to deal with people holding us to a MUCH higher standard than they'd hold other vendors to simply because of ridiculous "reviews" posted up either not about us at all or have no bearing on the current company as it is. As Mr. Admin said previously, everyone is starting here with a clean slate. That's why respectfully I'd ask you to not bring this up again. Past reviews or a lot of what's posted out there has nothing to do with this company.
Dude , it s not what you say .....its the way you say it . Grow up and be professional
As I alluded to in my initial post up top, this is how a speak. I'll do my best to try and expand upon what I mean or re-phrase to be more PC. If you took something the wrong way because I didn't do that prior to this point, then I apologize. I thought you and I had a good rapport with our exchanges in the recent past since I joined. Either way, I'll take your criticism as the constructive type.
Snap.
Sal should probably kick the shark off the forum. I read a few pages of the reviews. Seems like a pretty horrible company that I would never order from..
As I mentioned above replying to pinky, pretty much all of the reviews don't pertain to this company. I'd hope you'd take this into consideration and not judge the book by a cover made for another book, so to speak.
Didnt mean to start something, just want to try and help bring the best of to the Stinger forum. Some of these kits are 25k. Have a friend who is actually close friends with Mr. Miura. Aka Rocket bunny/Pandem. Having a kit made from him woyld be a first for any Korean car.
To clarify, he already made a kit for the
Genesis Coupe. I hate to say this, but that product was extremely disappointing for the Gen crowd because there were considerable fit issues and the fiberglass was only above average. A bunch of people reported these issues, so it was well documented. Sarona ended up making that identical kit now and have been so successful with it that the Miura-contracted version is all but extinct. In fact, we had a recent customer who purchased the Sarona version from us who said he was waiting for over a year to get the one from the other factory with no ETA. Side note...that Miura kit was priced in the $1500 range and he didn't ask for a MOQ to make/produce it. Take that for what you will, but it could be interpreted that he doesn't care about the Stinger market and is just tossing a ridiculously high number out here. The guy's got nothing to lose by doing that, so more power to him. This is a different market than other cars, and I'm aware some of the kits he designs can cost a pretty penny. It all depends on what kind of car we're talking about.
