XM Nag.webp

Starting this morning, this appears everytime I start the car, and I have to physically tap "OK" to clear it. I guess this is going to nag me for the next month.

I'm not getting that, but Sirius have contacted me by mail that my trial is about to end. I'm definitely renewing; I LOVE satellite radio.

It'll go away in less than a month. I despise the way the system won't simply stay off.

Protip: never pay full price for SXM. Insist that you aren't going to renew (or that you're going to cancel) and they'll offer you 6 months for $30. Every. Time.

I've done that for years and years and it worked exactly as you said. This year I kept waiting on the letter from them with the "specials" and it never came. I let mine expire in January. I haven't been without satellite radio since my first Kia in 2012. I'm still holding out though...maybe I'll call them eventually.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one that refuses to pay full price for SXM radio. They are always very willing to negotiate. Up until this time, they were always willing to bill me and have me pay them for a full year at a time. This time, they would only agree to an arrangement with an automatic renewal on my credit card. The rate was really good, but the auto-renewal thing really pisses me off, so I just let it expire. Now that I have a decent amount of music downloaded, I find the Apple Carplay works great for the long road trips through barren areas.

BTW, my car never showed me the notice that the OP posted.

They always made me give them my CC info for auto renewal. After getting it activated I would just go on thir website and remove my card info.

I had it for a month and it too went away.

Bastards.
I've had a TON of new cars with the SXM trial, and this is a new tactic. And a very annoying one.

I've found that if I press the Radio button it will revert to the Nav map in a few seconds and the nag message will be gone ... but I still have to DO something to make it go away. Grrr.

I drive most on long trips. Satellite radio is a necessary part of life for me. Works everywhere except in tunnels and underground parking garages, and I drive a lot of areas with little or no 4G signals.

I'm a news and talk kind of guy, so I seldom listen to mindless music. Therefore SXM isn't of much interest to me. During free trial periods, I'll occasionally listen to country or 50's music for brief periods, but otherwise I can entirely do without it.

SXM has a bunch of news/talk stations you know? Like... A BUNCH!

I like satellite radio, there’s something for everyone on it.

Meh... Music isn't for everyone...

But there's way more talk/news stations on SXM than there is on terrestrial radio. Terrestrial radio can't compete with SXM for content. The only thing it has going for it is that it's free.

It will go away in a much shorter time than a month.

I like the idea of satellite radio, but SXM is such a horrible company to be a customer of that I refuse to ever subscribe with them again. I hate that you have to call every few months to get a price break, and just wait until you decide to cancel - it's a painful, 45 minute phone call - unlike every other streaming-type media service where you can do it online in a few seconds. As a former, paying customer, SXM did a fabulous job at making sure I'll never be a customer again.

Unlike the Stinger.... I don’t consider SXM a bargain. It’s like old fashioned cable TV; throw a whole pile of content at you (overload), and charge you for it all (and way too much)! Sure you can choose the few stations you want... but really, is it worth THAT cost for a few stations? No way!!! Not to me.... cut the cabal a long time ago (no looking back) and have offered MANY times for Serious XM to offer me a fair deal - with no takes. I would have had KIA “uninstall” this crap had that been an option. db

They don't have the people and the local news I listen to most.
