Had a similar issue with a used '91 Thunderbird SC back in the day. I was still a young buck back then and couldn't take my eyes off this car. Everything was signed and I drove the car home. About a week later, they called saying I needed to come in and resign the paperwork due to some small detail. I had a relative meet me at the dealer cause I had a feeling they were up to some high jinks. When I got there, they presented me with the new paperwork, my payment had gone down $12 but when I delved further, I noticed my term had increased by 6 months and my APR went up. I pointed it out and they said they had issues financing me at the rate promised so they did what they could. I stood my ground and said "no way, you can have the car back and refund my $5k down payment". They couldn't believe I was willing to give the car back. They had everyone and their mother trying to talk me into taking the car. After much back and forth, I told them I would do the deal if they extended my after market warranty to include the entire financing term (I had only purchased a 12 month warranty) plus upgraded from basic to platinum package. The difference in upgrades was about $1k while the difference in payments was $500. I saw it as a wash since I had already negotiated almost $3k off of the selling price. 15 months into ownership the A/C went out and they ended up replacing the entire system. Due to the platinum wrap, I had $0 deductible. Point of the story is, everything is negotiable. If they are raising the price of the vehicle, you can probably get them to throw in wheel/tire protection, maintenance or after market upgrades at their cost to balance it all out. Just a thought.

My "old" car is back on Cargurus. What's interesting is they claim the car has 37 miles, but I returned it with ~260.... Hmmm..... Might be a "typo" :).
