Hi leonm47.

Did this message appear on your phone or on the car's screen?
Is this the first time you have used Android Auto? If so did you use the correct USB port. There are two of them, one for data and one for charging only.
Is data working on your phone/not connected to a dashcam or non data network.
If it has worked in the past, ensure you have opened up AA and have gone through all the necessary setup instructions/permissions.
Is the USB cord a known good working one? Do you have another that could be used for testing.

Cheers

Yea, usually the first time connecting with AA, you have to open your phone and allow all the features to be able to use it, after that it should light up and you are on your way.

I've found Android Auto to be very unreliable in this car, and I wish I could do it wirelessly. It drops the connection all the time even when I try other USB cables. I've basically given up on the feature at this point.

Mine wouldn't work with AA at all, with or without cable. But after an AA update to my Samsung Galaxy S7-edge, I happened to try it again and with the cable it worked fine. After that it works with AA without a cable. Messed around a bit with AA and decided that in the USA, it is worth less than UVO, which is worth slightly less than nothing. However, the car is quite satisfactory as is. If it were possible to remote start it from a long distance or lock / unlock, possibly put the windows up / down - would all be kind of handy. Having never had them, I'm not dependent on them.
