Hi everyone! I am new to the forum and to the Kia Stinger!

I recently bought a 2019 Kia Stinger GT2 with the maroon interior and am in love with it! But it seems a bit faster then stock laying down a 4.43 and 4.46 second 0-60 time. The car was used on a car lot with aftermarket badges on the front and rear as well as wrapped black door handles. Which makes me believe something else might have been done.

(( I should also mention this car is a rebuilt title. I will show before and after pics!))

So to my question! How can I tell if the previous owner did any ECU or TCU modifications? Is there any specific part number or details on the ECU or TCU I should be looking for? I have seen a few 0-60 times at 4.7 or above so I'm not thinking its majorly tuned or anything but I just want to get a baseline of what the car has. stock or what-not.

I appreciate your time!

If it has a piggyback tune like JB4 there will extra wires zap strapped and the ecu for the JB4 will likely be near the fuse box.
Look for wires that look out of place.
If it has a tuned ECU or replaced ECU they are marked with stickers that identify them, unless the previous owner removed them.
Best bet is to find a local tuner and pay them to check it out, most mechanics are pretty clueless when it comes to plug in mods.
You should have done this before purchase...I wouldnt buy a stinger without a fine tooth comb search of stuff like that. It usually indicates heavy abuse.

^^^His handle indicates that he's not particularly concerned about that. Hah.

Open the hood and snap some pics, we can tell if it has a piggyback for you. As for ecu and tcu, those would be tougher to tell. Do you have the model with the boost guage? If so anyway you can see what its doing for peak boost on a pull for us?

Snickle is correct, the car was cheap enough that even if it is tuned or needs work I don't mind pushing money into it. This is just my first ever KIA and im usually building Fords or Honda/Acura or VW. So I am completely new to Kia and how they operate with mods but love building cars so I took a chance.

I own my own t-shirt design business and needed something with a bit more room and is more comfortable for long hauls but has power (since I was driving a Focus RS and those have little room) and came across ConceptIIIPerformance's channel and saw one of his videos where he had 3 of these in the background and started wondering why. looked into them and damn! Fell in love!

I will snap some pics from under the hood soon but I have looked into it and I don't believe I see any extra wires or added modules. The car had a carbon fiber hood so it made me think maybe something else was done but I think she is pretty stock. I just like to talk to people who have had experience modding a vehicle more then I have that way I can get some Idea of what to look out for.

Here is a pic of the shirt design I have done.

Thanks for the replies!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Going with black on a white tee, how does that look? I wear large Hanes, long-sleeved tees.

About like that. Im not a huge fan of white cloths so I don't have any made. If you are interested look me up on IG: BoostedStickers and send me a pm there.

I like.

I don't Instagram or any other social media.

I'd pay for the black on white, if you have a way of doing a Beefy T Hanes long-sleeved shirt, size unisex large.

Yeah I can get those. If there is a way we can move this conversation to PM so we can discuss pricing and stuff that would be better then open forum.
