Bumping an old thread... has there been a determination on sound refinement?

Also just to get some clarification: OVAL exhaust tips still reduce drone, but ROUND reduces the drone even more?

The oval tips will fill the cut outs better, thus in theory reducing the possibility of noise entering back in, but i think as long as you clear the end of the bumper with either shape tip you should be fine.

Alright cool...bought ovals on ali a few days ago, regardless of drone disadvantage vs round...

that said, still curious about difference in sound. But maybe will test this myself when i have another $150-200 to throw away

Gonna bump this too! I just put on Stillen and same under 2000 RPM drone. I think the tips here work so well because they are resonated as well! That has in the past changed the sound on a couple of my cars (to the good). I just ordered these and will report back! Thanks for the awesome write up

This thread is kind of old, but here's a video I have on YouTube. Same catback and mods and same phone recording the sound. The first clips are functional/real aftermarket oval tips, the second is round resonated tips. Drone is highly reduced either way, but the resonated maybe just a tad more reduced. However, the oval tips sound slightly better and tiny bit louder IMO. But this could also be from the catback being more broken in by the time I put the oval tips on.

I think the only thing I'd change in this writeup is using band style exhaust clamps instead of the traditional ones that deform the pipes.
