• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Alberta Stingers Check In

It’s funny, my sales lady at go Kia made sure everything was set up and I knew every blot size in the car.
Yeah, when doing the orientation on picking up the car, I had to finally tell the guy that I was technologically literate, and I'd read up on the rest of the head unit features and settings myself. He was intent on going over each one individually and it was starting to seem like I'd be there for a couple of hours - my ride had long since retreated to their vehicle in the parking lot and dozed off. Kudos to the salesperson though, for wanting to be thorough.

As for UVO, there was a bit of a hiccup during activation because I tried to register using the abbreviated name that I normally use, and the paperwork submitted by the dealer was using my full name. Didn't take long to straighten out, but in the process I found out it had to match exactly.

Yeahhh I can’t even register. My car doesn’t exist with UVO... why it takes this long to figure out a fix is beyond me.

I saw a black Stinger heading south on the Anthony Henday around 430 today.
Might have been me. Oilers license plate?

I saw a white stinger in the Currents Windermere area about 1 or 2 weeks ago. It looked like it had an aftermarket rear spoiler.

That was two weeks ago, I believe it was another member.

Man... are the tpms sensor super sensitive? My pressure on the front passenger side dropped to 31 and it freaks out. All the others are fine at 32

Bad sensor maybe?

Not sure it just came
On today. Maybe when I’m back to work Monday it will go back to normal. If not I’ll take it in. I have the tire and wheel warranty. Not to mention the sensor has been mounted on the wheel for like 2 weeks lol

Mine tripped as well when it dropped that low - I take you are referring to it showing that tire as low each time you start the car. The minimum placarded pressure for the front tires is 36 psi, and when it gets down below a set limit (not user configurable) it triggers the alarm. Cold weather like we've had recently drops the pressure significantly, so when you see it falling that much you need to top them up.

To clear the error message, you need to fill the tire to at least 36 psi cold (as read by the TPMS) and drive it long enough (a couple of minutes after the TMPS pressures are read and displayed) for it to recognize it as the new, stable pressure. It won't clear if you start with less pressure and it increases after the tire heats up from driving.

Thanks man! I'll take it to get some air tomorrow or something. Luckily the NAIT automotives program lets me and my coworkers use their shop area for air and washbay so I'll take it tomorrow night to get some air and maybe a wash :)

Unless the cold messed it up, am bring my Stinger out this weekend for drive. Roads aren’t too bad for the tires I have one(got to get it easy in some spots).

Was just rolling along side a White Stinger by Kingsway Mall:)

Ok new problem... car won’t start when brake and start button is pushed. Car says it’s on, but can’t shift and engine doesn’t turn on... what the actual f*ck...

Put the key fob next to the start button and try to start it.

I’m at kia right now as they were filling up tires, went into the bay, they were done. Took it back out, parked it and went to talk to the manager about my UVO issue and then tried to leave. Wouldn’t start. One of the techs said it happens all the time...‍♂️

I was just at KIA also getting my tires filled and debating a spoiler. Did they say what it could be? The reason I said to try that key trick is, on my K900 my credit card key(wish the Stinger came with one) battery was low and it did something similar and that worked.

Started after 30 min outside ....

Get them to run a diagnostic on it, so you have a peace of mind. Would be heart breaking to see a Stinger on the side of the road with it’s hood up.
