Hey! Just wondering if any of my Canadian Brothers have done some research or found the best place to by K&N intakes in Canada? I'm starting to look around but some advice is always welcome!

Thanks!

Partsengine and motorwise have been my go to for parts. There's a 10% off sale on both sites right now too. For the k&n intakes, motorwise seems to be cheaper by ~5 bucks. Haven't found it for cheaper anywhere

Aweosme thanks! So far I've found it for ~$605 (shipping and taxes included) on tdotperformance.ca. i'll check those sites too.

Are there any deals on the Borla CB exhaust? I'm really interested, but I'm hesitant at the same time b/c of all the talk about the drone...half of the peeps on here says it's minimal and not annoying, while the other half says it's unbearable...dammit!

that's the problem with opinions on sound... generally useless unless you can hear it for yourself in person.

I bought mine from motorwise for about 1305 pre tax, and it looks to be even lower than that now with the coupon code. That's the cheapest compared to partsengine, tdot and uniqperformance.

As for sound... It's awesome when you're ripping it into the highway merging lane, but the drone is really noticeable in regular highway driving, where the rpm's stay between 1.5-2k rpm for basically 90% of the time if you're in comfort mode. I actually bought some exhaust wrap to see if sealing up the piping to the exhaust tips will help tame it a bit, but for now I leave it in sport mode on the highway to keep the rpm's above that range.

I wonder if tacking plates on the tips would stop the bounce back into the hatch area?

Instead of the wrap method.

I would think so, but I don't have any experience with welding, and I figure the exhaust wrap method would still be better since you won't get as much of a seal with plates.

why not try the DIY intake ? ( I am in Canada, not sure why my flag shows US....)

There is a drone fix that has been circulating around this forum lately - I don't have the thread off hand but basically it involves either:
1. Wrapping the exhaust outlet with heat resistant tape such that the gap between the outlet and the exhaust tips are eliminated.
OR
2. Get aftermarket exhaust tips that clamp onto the exhaust outlet.

Seems like these methods eliminated all noticeable drone.

As for the intake, I am also in Canada and just did the DIY method with Spectre cone filters + 90deg elbow tubing. I was leaning towards getting the Injen but I didn't love the look of it. I actually really like the K&N look, but it seems to provide much less of a power boost compared to other options, including the DIY. Main reason I went with DIY is because it looks good IMO, and if I don't like it in the end it only costed me $100CAD or so.

Great look however I have gone that route as well and had the set up for over a month and finally got the heatshield as the cones tended to just stay very warm ... I would say you could get the heat shield for 60-70CND, it will complete your set up
