So taking those grommets off and steel inserts made sit lower ... I need to take my shield off and re do it and see how it goes ... did you originally use the inserts oem ???Correct. No issues since they sit a little bit more flush.
Nope... I saw how it fit and decided I'd try without them. I'm gonna play with it this week to make my recirc hoses fit better or I'll just take them off again and cap the pipes. So taking those grommets off and steel inserts made sit lower ... Ok cool man ... thanks for the info ... next weekend I will take the heat shield off and re install without the oem grommets and see how it goes... for now I will leave with my custome foam linning lolNope... Does your hood close flush thou ?? Or is it still sticking out a little bit ... for the hoses you will have to cut them shorter bro ..Nope... I saw how it fit and decided I'd try without them. Wtf wow ... why the hell im I having issues .... I am pissed lol ...My hood I'd perfect. No issue with it closing.
Do you have to cut the hoses? I’m trying to keep everything as intact as possible incase I want to put things backDoes your hood close flush thou ?? Or is it still sticking out a little bit ... for the hoses you will have to cut them shorter bro ..
You don’t have to cut the hoses ... you just have to get the right angle on the tube ... I personally did cut mine for the xs BOV so it fits perfect and bought an extra set at the dealer for the oem BOV... but no you don’t have to cut them .... I just did because I bought an extra pair ..Do you have to cut the hoses? I’m trying to keep everything as intact as possible incase I want to put things back
Yeah thanks man ... I am defenetely done stressing over that lol ... but I have a feeling that with this Kia something else will come up lol .... good things is I am pro now at taking the bumper and intercooler off lol .... yes the AP intake installed was great ran into a minor issue but next weekend I beleive I can fix it ... but overall I am really happy with the intake ...I just want to hit the track .... the car is pulling hard now it’s unbeleivable ....Hey Angel, I didnt watch the video, but hope everything turned out great. Glad you are done stressing over your warranty visit.
I don’t Nick ..... I didn’t take any .... I can install the rubber lining back on and take pictures for you if you would like ?? I can text you the pics ?? Does that work ?Angel do you have any photos of the hood "not being aligned correctly"?
Nope not even close with the aftermarket pipe there is actually more clearance .... it’s basically the rubber linning is too thick or sitting to high on the shield so when you close the hood the rubbers seems to keep the hood from closing flush ... it still closes but you can see when it’s not even ....Is the intake making contact with any of your aftermarket charge pipes from your intercooler upgrade?
so your hood sits completely flush ??? Mine closed fine at ease but it was not flush like before putting the intakes ....good to hear maybe I am an odd caseInstalled mine today. Followed Kharz' directions and they fit perfectly. I cut nothing. Fitment was on the money. Hood closes easily. They are much louder than I expected. You can hear as soon as the turbo spools, and the blowoff is clear. They look aight. Wish the filters were red personally, but it's allll good.
Total install time being careful and never having done it, 1.5 hours. I feel like I could install them in 45 mins if I had to do it again.
