I've got their HF-1 wheels and love them. Think I may downsize my rears to just 20x10 +45 because 10.5 is poking a little more than I thought it would but aside from that, the wheels and their service has been solid.
I have 10.5+45 and they're super flush, probably still inset a little bit because the tire is flush with the fender

Could be your camber, go a little more - and it'll flush up.

Hi guys,

I'm currently running my OEM wheels on the winter but looking for a set of 20's when the summer is coming.

Found a nice set with 20x8,5 with ET38 in the front and 20x10 with ET43 at the back. Will this setup work without any spacers doing 245/35-20 and 285/30-20?

Don't want to buy the wrong because wheels and tires a fairly expensive here (around 4k USD for the above).

Thanks in advance.

Wheel/size/offset and tire/size/profile...can be confusing.

Howdy and welcome. Lots of discussion about this, as in the link posted by @YOWStinger. But the short answer is: it varies manufacturer to manufacturer; offset and rim width are only the two most important, starting factors. Tire size plays into it, so, choose wisely. I let the wheel and tire pros answer these questions: and they steered me right. They will have to pay for any goof that they do, vis-à-vis picking something that ends up rubbing. If you order online, go it alone, you are in trouble if you mess this up (as with all things).

Thanks for the reply.

My biggest concern is that the spokes might rub the Brembo brakes when going for ET38 (8,5" thou)? Think the standard offset is like ET34?

You are correct, it could be pretty close depending on the profile of the spoke. My 9+35 are pretty close to to the caliper, but apparently the TSW Sprint 8.5+40 clear the caliper, so it's really going to be hit or miss with that offset. If you love it and there's a good return policy, order em up and test fit them without mounting tires on them, most manufacturers and shops will let you return them as long as rubber hasn't gone on.

Your 245/35 285/30 could also be hit or miss too, however, the 20x10+43 are going to be more inset than mine, mine just clip the fender liner (doesn't touch the fender) at 10.5+45 and I get some minor rubbing under heavy compression, you might just clear that and not get rubbing with that tire size. If you can stand a little rubbing, I do highly recommend those tire profiles, you get nearly stock profile so the 20's run really smoothly. There are other options that are closer to stock diameter that you can go with too that won't rub.

Damn. Not the answer I wanted. But thank you for the information :)

They also have a another model with ET35 for around 5k USD. Might go with those instead.

My 8.5" wide, 19" rims in front have 40 offset; and the TSW "Watkins" spokes are very close to the caliper, but clearance is no problem. The pros gauged that to a nicety.

I wouldn't let that discourage you, the specs on the wheels look good, they'll PROBABLY fit, generally that offset is going to fit neatly inside the fender.

Yup, that's pretty tight, those spokes are really tapered.

Just be aware that while the pros are pros, they also fit wheels and tires on lots of cars, and probably don't have a lot of vehicle specific information. Even variant went with a "go-to" measurement recommendation for my car and I still don't think it's bang-on. If you're looking at off-the-shelf wheels, there are only so many available fitments, our cars don't exactly align with Nissan/Mitsu or Mustang fitments, but they're reasonably close to both, there are lots of wheels made for them, and none specifically made for us. My Variant wheels were custom offsets, and if I was going for mm-accurate offsets, I would have done 10.5+48 in the back to tuck in just a little bit more so I could fit more tire on there, and 9+32 in the front because they're pretty close to the suspension, and could be closer to the fender, and that's not an off-the-shelf fitment.

Just on the above, we definitely have space for 305 or 315's under the back fenders, but our fitment options are pretty limited unless you're getting custom or semi-custom rims because we'd need a higher offset back there. There are a couple of owners with 19" 295's in the back. Totally depends on what you're going for.
