After sway bar replacement

Isuppose you could, but I didn't and noticed no change at all. You will after spring replacement though

Does not affect wheel alignment. If your alignment was out before though it will be more noticeable after the sways are on.

Front and rear sways make it feel like a different car. Youll love em

Hi all, new to the modding scene and have a quick question. After replacing stock sway bars with aftermarket ones do I need to take my car in for a wheel alignment or other things that need to be done?
Just ordered mine today - I have been reading here for months and I have not seen anyone say that a wheel alignment should be needed after the install

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I’m going to have a dealership install my sways later this summer and the tech there feels pretty strongly I should have an alignment done after.

Fine with me, the timing will be about right.

Tech sounds like he wants more hours in the book. Sway bars have no bearing on wheel alignment whatsoever unless you're removing other suspension components to install them.

I installed both sways, car is straight as a arrow on highway

Not necessary, ask why. The answer could be interesting.

First, thanks folks for the feedback here. Second, I hesitate to post this because, based on that feedback, I may be getting suckered...which would bum me out.

The tech I have been working with told me 3.5 hours to install the rear sway because he has to drop part of the suspension out, and because of that, the alignment is needed. The front is no problem, but I’m being told the back is very complicated.

Seems an odd thing to screw me on, and I thought the price for the install of the exhaust and catch can he did was fair, but...happy to take feedback from wider group.

I did the rear in 2 hours. Straightforward, just one bolt is a pain in the ass.. front too a little over an hour...if you have basic mechanical skills you could easily do it all yourself and save the money.

Either he doesn't know, or is trying to screw ya. No need to drop the suspension

nothing needs to be removed my friend — the orientation of the fasteners holding the sway bar brackets in place makes it a frustrating task but plenty of us have accomplished this without removing any suspension pieces

Oy. Alright, well, maybe I’ll make another round of calls for installers then. Bummer, I like these guys, but will double check with someone I trust, too. Again, thanks for the feedback!

I did it all myself in my driveway on jack stands. The drivers side rear is a pain because of the fuel filler tube, but if you have a decent set of box wrenches and socket wrenches, you can get it done.

I'm probably the biggest sucker here. I had a good mechanic do mine just because I thought it would be a pain not having a lift. didn't even ask him how much. This guy is good, but kind of old school. Looks up the amount of hours in some sort of book and that's what he charges. He ended up with 5.5 total hours at $120 an hour. Hurt a little but at least I didn't have to do it. On the alignment piece, I felt like my steering wheel was a little off center after, but the car tracked straight as an arrow. No pulling either way.

Just curious - did it take him 5.5 hours to do the work?
I got my sway bars installed also, it took about 1.5 hours for the shop I went to for both front and rear and I waited at the shop.
I figured out some of the shops nearby which seemed like good options, then checked for quotes on Yelp or through their sites before getting the install done.
