I'm finally getting serious about buying a Stinger after months of off and on research. Never bought a car on my own before (been driving the same car for 20 years), so I don't know how these things work. I was wondering, if I find a stinger that has most of the options I want, but suppose a few that I want are missing, can I get the dealer to install them? Obviously I'd have to wait and pay for the features - that's fine - or is that not how things work?

This also raises the question - has anyone had much luck finding a good dealer, settling on a price, and getting them to just order the car with all the options they want?

Kia sells most models with different trim levels. Most options are not add-on package save for few items like remote-start. For Stingers MY2020, you have choice of GT-Line(2.0 Engine) and GT, GT1, and GT2(all 3.3) trim. Each package adds a bit more options. If you want every option available, you have to buy the GT2 trim.

As for good dealers, depending on what your definition of "good" is. :) Check price paid thread to get a general feel of the trim you are looking for. Get a baseline of what you want to pay, then email every dealer near you to see if they are willing to sell at your baseline. You may want to shop out of state as well if you are not happy with local dealers.

Thanks for the response jellyman. I'm looking for a White 2020 GT-Line, and was hoping to get all the options other than the Sun & Sound / Red Interior and Remote Start Push. Based on the "build your stinger" tools on Kia's website and edmunds, I was under the impression I could the following:

Paint Protection Package $200
Alloy Door Sill Plate $130
Bumper Applique* $0 (Supposedly comes w/ Paint Protection Package)
Mud Guards $115
Wheel Locks $60
Cargo Mat $125
Cargo Net $50
Cargo Tray $95
Cargo Tray Seat Back $130
Carpet Floor Mats $150
Door Sill Applique $110
EC Mirror/Homelink/Compass $350

So, you're saying that not all of these options are available for the GT-Line trim?

Oh, these are considered oem accessories and could be purchased from 3rd party for cheaper. And yes, these accessories are available for all trims. Personally, I would not get the paint protection, I was told this nothing but some spray on stuff and not worth $200. Get a proper ceramic coating/ppf after buying the car.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I had the cargo net and wheel locks packed into my hatch box for nearly two years before I rediscovered what was in that box (net), and saw the wheel locks when I changed from a carboard box to a high impact plastic one: forgot I had either of them. I also got the carpeted matts (which I soon replaced with OE all-weather). I just installed the mud/splash guards a couple of weeks ago.

Agree with @jellyman that any dealer "paint protection" will be inferior to 3rd party work. After three months, I got the entire front end of my car clad in PPF. (Ironically, on the spur, the day I bought, I opted for the "paint repair" offered by my dealer; it would repair any paint damage no larger than a business card; but I never used it, so $750 wasted; yeah, stupid:P).

agree 100% with jellyman. I can attest to the fact that a good set of mag locks are like 45 at pepboys, o'reillys, etc paint and protection and the applique for the bumpers, pass on those. as for the mats, tuxmat makes a great product, or you can always get the ones that are advertised in car mags, the ones that run up the sides of the center console. they are more expensive than the dealer ones, but they last a lifetime. and the homelink, if I am not mistaken, its already there, but I also have a gt maybe its an option with the gt line. check out the header of the forum, it lists all the vendors that have products for our stingers. good luck with the purchase, post some pics when you pull the trigger.

I appreciate all the input, everyone. I'll be sure to post some pics and a short recap.
