Adding more Horsepower to GT-Line

I have a 2021 GT-Line with 255 HP. Heard the 2022 base is 300 HP. Anybody on hear get cold air intake (CAI) added to their car for more performance? The 255 is fine but wanted a bit more off the line.

As with all modern turbo engines, intakes/exhausts do effectively nothing. The ECU will automatically adjust to hit its power targets regardless of any additional airflow. You might get some more turbo noise, but that's about it.

To get more power you can actually feel, you're going to want to look at something like a JB4 kit: Kia / Hyundai Turbo JB4 Performance Tuner

Just be warned, the 2.0t doesn't take the extra power quite as well as the 3.3t. More info is readily available in this forum. You might start here.

Im running the K&N typhoon, added hp? eh maybe. Exhaust will get you a little but if you're really are looking to add you're best options fall in to Lap3, Jb4, or Racechip.

FBO might help. Get JB4 to feel the difference. Mix pump gas with e85 if you have access to it. Less timing corrections/retard.

It does seem Kia runs the plugs at the limit of their temperature rating at the stock power level. Better safe than sorry if you're aiming to push more boost.

May be of some help.....have not made the final call yet but may have a JB4 w/bluetooth going to the sale block (purchased brand new and on latest firmware version). I have a 2018 2.0 as well (purchased new 2.5 yrs ago). New vehicle on the radar (Stinger or maybe "other"). TBH, been driving the car stock and ordered a brand new set of OEM plugs to put back in. Must say, it drives a lot smoother stock.

Anyway, to answer your query, you can run stock plugs but should really change to HKS, (0.22 - 0.26 gap). Changing plugs on the 2.0 is "happy snappy" and even if being careful, half hour tops. Very little drama involved.
