I was wondering if anyone who has installed the can themselves can verify with me the connections. The instruction pictures they send with the kit suck and Ive seen so many variations of hookup I just want to be sure.

Looking at the lid on the CC.

1. The single connection on CC connects to the PCV valve
2. The right connection on the CC where the 2 connectors are together goes to the Intake Manifold where the PCV was attached?
3. The left connection goes around the engine bay and connects to the Air Intake

Does it matter which connection where the two are together goes to the intake manifold or around to the air intake on driver side. From what I see on the instructions and what I see in pictures on there website it is reversed?

One last thing. The hose that connects where the breather goes is on tight. Anyone cut it to remove. Would hate to do.

thanks

If you still have time I’d consider a return and purchasing one that works from another manufacturer.

Aside from the troubles of installation you’re facing, the design doesn’t work in practice. Lots of reports on this site alone.

The vessel balances out across both systems and gives bad results on the PVC side where you will normally catch the most. The check valves aren’t always engaged, they require pressure differential, no springs. The crank case would be a nice to have but not a significant culprit in off-gassing oil or water vapor.

All the other popular catch cans work well with aftermarket intake designs too. The ADD W1 is a pain to install on at least the Injen.

For me the poor fit and finish really turned me off. They don’t even provide hardware that’s sized right. Besides, the ADD W1 universal cans sell for less than $100. That means the hose, cheap check valves and shabby bracket cost and extra $160-180? It’s over priced. The reason why negative reviews aren’t seen on (at least one of) the vendors websites is they screen them out. The lack of clear instructions was a little annoying.

I switched to the Sxth Element, but the Mishimoto is probably the best fit/value/performance in my opinion.

I use the ADD W1 along with Injen. Works fine no complaints, however I have heard of the check valves falling on one or two occasions so I plan on upgrading those when I get around to it.

How easy was the catch can install for you? I’m hoping to do myself if possible.

It was easy. Just read and watch a couple vids first and you should be OK. You will save yourself the potential pain of someone else touching/f*cking-up your car. When finished you will get a great sense of accomplishment/satisfaction. And most importantly you will have save several bucks that can be squirrelled away for your next mod. Good luck.

I can confirm that the install is easier than it looks. I got it installed in about 75 minutes and it seems to be working fine so far.

As long as you empty it weekly it won't be an issue. It gets pretty cold here where I live.
