Greetings! I just joined this forum tonight, and I am about to order my first Korean car, as well as first Kia on December 4th, when I can get to the dealer where I will be keeping the car. Stinger has a combination of attributes which makes it very desireable for my purposes, including the hatchback practiclity and comfortable rear seat. My next choice was a BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, although the hyper-rational part of my brain kept telling me to get a Subaru Outback. I was very pleased to find I can pass the "sit behind myself" test, as I am 6'2", and knowing the influence of ex-pats from BMW and Audi for engineering and design (please, not the other way around...ever!), combined with Kia quality reputation, helps me feel comfortable buying the early production of a first-year program.
Now that the build function is up on the Kia website, I see that some choices are limited. I know that a 2.0 Premium is what I want, but I also see that I am limited to a white exterior, as I do not ever want a black interior. I would have enjoyed Ceramic Silver, which seems interesting. But, I can live with this. The rest of the car seems extremely well-equipped for my desires and about ten grand below the Bimmer alternative, comparably equipped.
I've enjoyed participating in forums for MB, BMW, Audi, Subaru and look forward to having interesting and friendly chats here. I've worked in the auto industry for about 3 decades before retiring and going back to work for a Tier I supplier. I apologize in advance if some industry jargon seeps into my posts!
