• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

mine 2018 build is due for delivery in Melbourne at the end of Feb
I wonder if anyone had a 2018 build delivered yet or how soon?
I can't wait

Saw an article months ago about a chap in Melbourne who had a micro blue Stinger he may have been reciepient number 2. This chap got in very early after viewing that American footage.
I do recall something similar actually and he had an aftermarket exhaust put on his car. Maybe that’s where I think the other early deposit was made.

Yes Marco i remember joining and going back to the start where Kia admin mentions you. You where the first forum member in Oz right?
I think I may have been second after app_master who joined on the 17-1-17.
I was early on all aspects but never first. Always a bridesmaid and never the bride lol

Out of Korea Australia was the first market to have delivery so these first batch receivers would have been first. Most of the deliveries were done within a couple of weeks.
I recall looking up car carrier ships from Korea and tracked a ship that I was 99% sure had my car on it, not obsessed much. Palmela and docked on the 15th of September after coming down the coast from Queensland and NSW.

The car is actually a recovery from cancer present to myself. I had a low resection of my bowel/ rectum in May last year after they found cancer. They caught it early and 6 months of chemo and radio therapy has ended up me beating it. Having further surgery in April to remove the temporary ileostomy bag and I should be able to be back to nearly normal after my guts gets back into rhythm. I had no family history and no symptoms and it was my first colonoscopy that uncovered the cancer, lucky I went and had it done at 55.
It makes you appreciate that you must live life to its fullest so I made the splurge and bought the car with cash. If you have not had a colonoscopy yet get one done to avoid what I had to endure. The test you do in the mail at 50 is useless to determine cancer.
Wow. Thanks for the post, sir. Gutsy of you to share ;) but in all seriousness congrats on decking the "big C" and your outlook is inspiring. Cheers, and here's to taking life by the Stinger!!

Agree 100%, love “Taking life by the Stinger”, very clever and so applicable.

Hi boys I ordered my stinger 24th Feb 17. I test drove my car on the 9th oct 17 but the dealer wasn't given the ok to release the stinger to me until the 11th oct at about midday by Kia Australia. If anyone got theirs before the 11th I would like to know.

Back then i made a note in my diary the first person to recieve a Stinger was 12/10/17. Can't remember who. So you've beaten that. "STING" thought he might have been the first? And as i mentioned previously there's a chap in Melboune with an Atomic blue car who was very early to.

I told Kia that I'm the first person with my face to own a Stinger but they weren't very forthcoming with nice extra gifts for me ;(

Yes I am in QLD. The car has 8000km,s on it, I had a major problem with the car which took Kia about 4 weeks to finally find a fix. People were flown in twice to work on it, the problem was intermittent. Two Batteries later and a new body control unit & boot control unit brought in from Korea every thing is terrific. They found two other cars in Korea with the same problem. So if anyone else has the same problem the dealers will know straight away what the problem is, It has been noted. I was very happy with the dealers effort to please.

Sticks
any chance you could elaborate on the problems
you encountered.

After the second battery was put in which lasted two days before being flat. The car was monitored for a while,it was found that at approximately the 8hr mark after being turn off the units would switch on think someone was going to get in the car. It was draining the battery at about 2amps load
and if the voltage drops below 11.2volts the car will not start. But mind would drop below 6 volts over night. I would have to piggy back with another battery so my charger start recharging it. everything has been good since then.

All good,
have a kia sorento platinum with voltage drop problems,
Kia Australia have sent over technicians, changed modules, wiring looms.
It has been 5 months and still no fix.

Hey Mate,
I’ve been so busy with work and my family but I do jump on every few days or week or so to have a look over the threads.
I’m like a teenager again, the car is unbelievable and it still gets so much attention, there’s always a stranger at the lights or the local super market that wants to chat about the car. I have to admit I’m enjoying it.
It’s just clicked over 4000km as I don’t do a lot of long distance driving but the drives I do do are often thrilling.
I’ve meet a local with a Deep Chroma Blue GT and a guy who sold me a dash cam end up buying a black one because he loved the car that much. Other then that I haven’t been able to attend any meets. The Great Ocean Road day sounded like a great day out but I was away that weekend. I’m looking forward to meeting up on future ones.
How is yours going? I’m sure you’re experiences are like mine?

WAIT!!?!!?!! There was a great ocean rd day????? @$%#
