5 things I hate about my Stinger GT

I have a 2022 about two weeks now and I’m hearing some noise from the trunk area every now and then other than that it’s great.
So they still haven't fixed the trunk eh?

I saw a 2022 over the weekend, definitely not a fan of those tiny exhaust tips in the middle of the large chrome tips. I wonder who thought that was a good idea?

Word! If you put the rear seat down you can stack 24 arms and legs to the ceiling (as long as you don't have a Michael Phelps in there) and stack 12 torsos in the remaining space. YMMV.
so i know this is kind of a recent post, but i found this diagram in the manual, it may clear up how many torsos n such you can fit...i think what it's showing is you can fit 5 full bodies in the cabin, and then 5 dismembered in a suitcase, i mean it looks like a suitcase in that diagram.. so then the question is how many suitcases can you fit in the trunk. there's your answer. :p

..i can't sleep so I'm reading the manual.

one thing i hate about myself and NOT my stinger is that i dont know how to perform all the maintenance myself.
Just be able to change the oil/filter until you need the timing belt changed. Unless we got a chain.

^^Im pretty sure both the 4 and 6 cylinders use timing chains. I don't recall seeing any maint interval relating to these in the owner's manual. Hopefully lifetime (or at least 10 yrs).

Changing the oil on this car is a pita. The G was probably simplest once you remove the lower cover. Piece of cake to jack up either end of the car, everything accessible. Oil filters cheap. Standard oil weight, 5w30. The stinger requires convoluted ways of jacking it up. Oil filter is a cartridge which is a pain to install.

Fake Hood Vents
Small Gas tank
featureless HUD
laggy infotainment on the 2023 refresh.
Cant lock doors while engine is running

Is any car perfect. For what I paid, what I got this car is a WIN, WIN all the way. Only gripe I have is the settings for the wiper. Should have been Auto/Off/Slow/Fast. This way when you just want to push up to do a quick wipe of you don't have to click down twice to go back onto Auto.

in addition to ones others have mentioned, my minor gripes are ...

- electronic shifter and parking brake. would prefer mechanical
- manual shift is paddles only (with the electronic shifter). in other cars, i preferred using the shifter, especially with steering wheel mounted paddles, and not column mounted
- no center console controller/joystick for the display. touchscreen is fingerprint hell

I agree about the E-shifter, not sure why this is considered better. In the US, only the GT2 gets the E-shifter, if you want the H-shifter, you would have to get the GT1 trim, but then you leave a lot of features out.

im still getting used to it ... i guess i wouldnt mind it if Park was the top position, and not a seperate "button". pushing the Park button is just awkward and non-intuitive.

^^Does it automatically go into park if you open the door?

^^Where does that go? Link?

My 2.5 is simple.. traditional shifter, if I want it in N, I leave it in N, car on or off, door open/closed. KISS!!!

These just plug in where the seat belt does ( the male part into the female part ).
It's just like plugging the seat belt in. Tricks the car into thinking the seat belt is fastened. The wide end is just a bottle opener

I always wear a seat belt but I use one of these when I want to leave the engine running, gear in neutral and be able to get out of the car and roll it back and forth to check the rubber for nails or screws.

If you get out of the car does it stay in neutral?

Why, does the car automatically go in park when the seat belt is released?
If so, must be an ozzie thing, in the US, it just dings an annoying chime until you put the seatbelt back in.

No the car stays in neutral, BUT, if you get out of the car, it goes back into park on its own.

But, with the engine running and this widget plugged in, put car into neutral and hop out, and it stays in neutral.

It does. When I work on the car, I leave the wheels unlocked so I can push the car forward a few feet in the garage as needed to clear certain things. My process is to either turn the car off in neutral or double press on the start button with the foot OFF the brake (to get to ON mode). Then step on brake and shift into N. Of course my G was simpler yet, press on clutch and shift into any none gear gate, release parking brake.

I have a hard time processing the electronic shifters. Those push button types completely blow my mind. Coming from decades of mt driving that's just unacceptable.

With all the rain we're having in CA.. I really, REALLY wish it would have a rear wiper.. Like, I'd pay $1K extra to have one.

Ill agree to a point. Plenty of times id love one especially here in SW Fl. Then i sit back and look at my car and feel it would take away from the lines and looks.
