Looking for your ideas on medium to small physical accessories that don't exist yet or could be improved on.

For my Honda's I've designed and printed tool-less cargo hooks and a shift knob for my manual transmission.

I would love to see ideas since I haven't had much time with the car yet. I'm a novice when it comes to 3D design but I like challenges and we might be able to come up with something awesome.

If possible include detailed descriptions, pictures of similar items, etc. Don't worry about dimensions or other limitations, I'm just looking for ideas to get things started!

As an example here's the cargo hook I designed for all 10th gen Honda Civic's that fits into some holes in the trunk. No tools or modifications needed.

Would this not be considered DIY? I don't really care where the thread is at, just curious.

DIY is intended for instructions on how to do something specific to the stinger. Either asking or sharing.

You are looking for a discussion on what parts you should make for the interior. If you post a thread about how you printed and installed the part, that’s more DIY.

Posting in the DIY wasn’t wrong. My use of “correct” may have been incorrect. I should have said “more appropriate”.

I would love to see a smart phone holder that can attach to the side of the center display. This way, Both displays can be used and easily seen with having to move eyes/head to various locations.

Why? Because I am not too fond of Android Auto and would rather have my phone oriented in Landscape running my desired apps and the center display setup for the nav and radio.

I use a large format phone...Pixel 2XL

Maybe break the mold (pun intended) and do things that are more for car enthusiasts. They already make cell phone holders that go onto your steering wheel, but why not make one intended for recording your speedo with your phone hands-free? Those steering wheel holders are terrible for that and usually have a lot of shaking involved due to the weight of a decent smartphone.

Or perhaps make various holders that can hold cell phones in various places in the car for said car enthusiast recording purposes. While I have a camcorder, I'm not about to spend $100 on a decent suction cup flex mount just to record racing kills. Better yet, make one that allows you to mount your cell phone as a dashcam, then write an app for cell phone dashcam functionality.

The sky's the limit, man!

I was JUST thinking about a dual screen set up and I like your implementation! I'll see if I can come up with something.

There are a ton of things that do both of these, not sure I can make anything unique that isn't already cost effective to just buy. If you have specific suggestions I'm all ears. Personally if I make any videos it'll probably be with a gopro on my sunroof. There are a few apps that offer cellphone dashcam support but the only one I have experience with is chffr.

If you moved to the exterior, there are tons of things you could make... There's not a whole lot left that's needed for the interior besides car enthusiast stuff (most regular people have all that they need as is).

That's just a bit outside my expertise. I haven't started learning complex curves yet.

Not sure If I can get the phone mounted next to the stock screen, still need to take a closer look, but I'm thinking having it lower might be nice. Right above the USB/AUX inputs seems like a nice place with a couple of solid mounting options.

I'm also trying to figure out somewhere to put a phone pocket for using Android Auto/Apple CarPlay while the passenger is using the wireless charger and for those that don't have the wireless charging cubby.

How about a hook to hold up the cover that goes over the wheel well in the trunk. It attaches via a thin rope to cover then the hook goes onto the rear hatch lid pneumatic arm.

Could You take a picture of what you're talking about?

Here's a phone mount I designed, attaches with 3m VHB. Been there for 4+ months now through summer heat and still holding. Printed out of eSun ePC.

Also designed some other parts for 3d printing, but companies may not like it posted. DM me for details.

No you have to design it. Have look at another hatchback car they might have one.

I don't know what you mean by "a hook to hold up the cover that goes over the wheel well in the trunk". I'm just not sure what you're trying to accomplish. If you could expand on this or find something online that shows what you're thinking that would be helpful.

Ok the backing board which goes over the spare has a short piece if synthetic rope like boot lace thickness, attached . On the other end of the rope is a plastic hook. You oull up the cover then the hook goes into the hydraulic strut which lifts the hatch so its a plastic hook with abiut 6-10” of rooe attached.
Its very hard to explain any simpler thats why i said go look at another hatchback as they all seem to have it.
