Fast Wheel switch 18inch + Bridgestone WS80 as the winter wheel package since Jan this year. Ever since then one winter tire blew to pieces on highway 417 after hitting potholes on street(no other damaged happened luckily).

Over the weekend, went to get winter tires put back on the car, it turns out 3 out 4 wheels are ripped so they can't get balanced. They are just slightly bented by visuals.

Re-balanced twice in Costco, and then once in a different tire shop. The car still shakes, feels like going through many small speed bumps.

Does anyone have similar experience after winter? What do you do to correct the tire balance? Only to replace the rims/wheels?

How big were the potholes? It's hard to imagine a brand new tire blowing up after hitting a few of them. Was it over-filled or under-filled with air? I still have the OEM A/S tires and I've hit a few pretty nasty potholes a few weeks ago and there was no damage.

Were you only using the winter tires during winter? i.e. below freezing temperatures?

Imaging that pothole as a "sinkhole", it didn't blow up right after hitting the pothole, it was aftermath that I was driving on the highway with 100km/h. I assume the pothole caused damage to cause it to blow up to pieces.
Tire pressure was set to 39PSI according to manual
and yes I only use winter tires 18 inches during winter.

see images below.

Holy shit, dude. That's definitely not a pothole; it's a sink hole. I also have WS80s but have yet to put them on since it's still relatively "warm" out. That being said, my front tires are set at 33~ and rear at 36~ PSI according to the tire pressure monitor on the gauge cluster and it rides nicely and goes over bumps well.

Which tire blew up and where all 4 tires at 39 PSI?

I had 36 PSI for front and 39PSI for rear acording to the manual, and it was nitrogen air. It was the passenger side rear.

see image below of the time tire blew, you can see the mark on the road. I was lucky that nothing happened to myself/my car/others.

Dang, dude. Beyond what I've already said, I really have nothing else for you :(

Maybe you can lower the PSI by 1-2 this upcoming winter? It may help the tires go over the potholes better, but if it's a sinkhole like the one you went over, nothing is gonna save that.

Is the same hole still there?

yeah I'm thinking to lower the tire PSI as well. That pothole was in downtown, it has been fixed BUT millions of other new potholes will appear in upcoming winter

I am thinking to get steel rims, anyone has any suggestions?
