3.3L twin turbo in another KIA

What the G70? Or G80?
Neither a G70 or G80. They are not on the level of the 2020 K900 I bought. After buying a 2020 Stinger GT2 I decided I wanted something with similar performance characteristics but with more luxury. It was between the K900 and the G90. I liked the classic K900 over the G90 because of its more classic German Mercedes look. The G90 exterior reminds me more of a Japanese style luxury car.

Didn't know the Stinger had a bigger brother. We don't get the K900 in Australia. How does the price compare to the Stinger?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I've always liked them.
The only thing that kept me away was the slightly higher price and possible scarcity/cost of parts down the road, due to the car being so rare.

Since Kia/Hyundai/Genesis share similar components, would that still be an issue? One of the reasons I picked up my '18 Stinger GT LImited with little worry (despite common wisdom advocating never buying cars in their first model year) is because I knew that the same Lambda II T-GDI engine, 8-speed transmission, and AWD was used in the G90 & G80. I bought her before the G70 released, so in my mind I was buying a more fun and value oriented G80 (without their refinements, ofc). The major mechanicals had demonstrated short-term reliability, and if not the warranty would kick in, the only gamble would be the electronics, fitment, cosmetics and small fixes (and I was right, I have the annoying sunroof squeak and minor red paint issues. No electrical issues like the audio system going quiet in mine).

With that in mind, what are you thoughts now?

Check out the 2019 and 2020 on YouTube. They are the latest generation. Top notch luxury and safety. Its size sits between a Mercedes E class and an S Class. I paid $52,179 + tax here in Colorado. They are tough to find. I've read where Hyundai won't allow Kia to compete with Genesis here in the USA. The K900 sells very well in other parts of the world.

Yes a bit higher price but well, well worth it if you are looking for more luxury than and stinger without losing too much performance.
You are actually getting much more vehicle than a Stinger GT2 for not much more money. The car is not common in the USA but popular in the rest of the world. It sometimes out sells the KIA Sole in South Korea. Parts should not be an issue.

Funny, I traded my 2015 K900 for the Stinger, wonderful car, congrats.

Just watched a Doug Demero video on the K900. It's a big beast and very luxurious. He said they don't stock many in the dealers compared to the many SUVs so very rare.

We gotta see some pictures!

Was this a brand new purchase? If so, I didn't know they could be negotiated so low. Great price.

It is a full size sedan that sits in between a Mercedes E class and S class. It is larger than the Stinger but not overwhelmingly and its handling is very good. It sits on the Stinger platform.

11 inches (28 cm) longer than a Stinger
1.8 inches (4.57 cm) wider than a Stinger
3.6 inches (9.14 cm) higher than a Stinger
.5 inches (12.7 cm) larger front rotors than a Stinger
Wider staggered tires than Stinger

It is a brand new 2020. Pearl white/Ivory cocoa brown interior.
Sorry, I have no pictures. When I retired I also retired the cell phone. I feel so free now.

The K9/K900 (which shares its platform w/ the G90) is one heck of a bang for the buck.

Just wish the current model had more striking sheetmetal, but the interior is gorgeous and miles ahead of the Stinger when it comes to material quality (not expecting K900 level of interior appointment, but the Stinger's interior should be closer to the K900 than to the Optima).

Doesn't sell in any significant #s here (oddly enough, the inferior previous gen which didn't even have available AWD sold better), but sells well enough in Korea (in Korea, outsells the Stinger by a factor of 3-4x).

Congratulations! If you bought it in April, yours is one of 12 K900s that sold in the US (77 sold year to date). Good luck running into another one .

I'm sure if there is a forum for the K900 owners, it would be like a ghost town....tumbleweed blowing down the deserted streets, just the sounds of crickets. They sound that rare. :p

"more striking Sheetmetal" I hear you. It is looks very similar to a the Benz E & S class when you compare them next to each other.
Since I also own a 2020 GT2 I can say the Stinger's interior is quite cheap looking compared to the K900

There is a K900 forum and more posts than you'd think. The K900 is rare but.....I bought my Stinger GT2 back in Jan. and have yet to see another parked or on the road.

While part is that the Stinger should have gotten a nicer interior from the start (no reason for the F/L Cadenza to have the better interior), part of it is also how nice the K900's interior happens to be.

Not that far off from the G90's interior and even better in some respect to the pre-F/L G90 (which didn't get a leather wrapped center console until the F/L); in addition, the K900 got the full digital gauge cluster whereas the NA spec F/L G90 only got the digital screen btwn the analog gauges.

Which one do you enjoy driving more or does it depend on your mood?
