Hi all,

I am having a hard time finding concrete information whether one can comfortably do 255/40R18 square setup on 2018 GT2 AWD using 18x8.5 wheels with 30-38mm positive offset on a stock suspension without chancing tire rub on fronts. I would prefer square, so that I can rotate and extend tire life. This would be purely for tracking proposes as I noticed on certain tracks (VIR Patriot) fronts wear faster than rears. I confirmed some are using 245s but am unsure on the sidewall. Also, would 255s significantly increase aquaplaning over 245s due to added width? Thanks for your help.

FYI I am running on 19 x 8.5" OEM rims squared with 15mm spacers in the front for technical and 5mm spacers in the rear for esthetic reasons.
The rubber is 255/40r/19. Hope this helps in your decision making.
Thanks for the info. To confirm, you have no rubbing issues even in spirited driving (heavier leans in curves with or without the wheel turned)? Also, what is your wheel offset spec, or what exact wheels are you using? Lastly, is the technical reason for the spacer in the front to make room between the strut and the wheel?

Do you have any pictures or does it poke? I would like to run this setup for rotation reasoning but want it to be flush on all 4 corners. I don't want poke.
