2022 Rims Powder Coated

Hi Guys,

So I was stuck between aftermarket and powder coating the stock rims. Eventually I decided to go the after market route once it’s time to replace the tires (currently 500 miles in total on the car). Here’s the result of powder coating the rims, completely changed the appearance and I must say I’m happy with the result.

Total cost for all 4 rims: $500

I was thinking about doing the same thing to my wheels. That looks nice! Light aftermarket wheels are expensive so they're out of the budget for now.

I powdercoated my stocks because I like the wheels and didn’t have space to store them if I go aftermarket. Besides, the way NJ roads are I’d be (more) pissed if I nailed a pothole.

We already know the 18-21 wheels look sweet powder coated in black. The wheel is just better looking overall. I thought the 22 wheels were ugly, getting them powder coated, they actually look decent, not nearly as good as the 18-21 though.

I have to agree, but I had to go with what I had available considering my car is 2 weeks old.. wasn’t content with the stock look, so I took a gamble in what I thought would enhance the appearance until it was time to get new tires. Of course there’s better options, but I’m happy with the outcome as it will go well with the color scheme I have planned for the rest of the upgrades.

We have the same car color, it looks so much better now IMO. If you are thinking about, do it.

I don't like them black, I prefer the chrome look. I also changed the center caps. I got the new kia logo ones.

Damn looks good. A local place in MA quoting me for $200/rim for the same (2022 wheels)... Not sure if I'm getting ripped or what

That's rather high. But prices are going up for everything. I'm remembering $150 per wheel around here back in February 2019.

I was also quoted for 200 per wheel with rim curbed/scratch corrections. They want the wheel free of scratches before they can powder coat it.

I have these same rims and I like the look, but not the chrome ... these looks bananas ... I love them. I am going to do the same thing to mine ...
