2022 Exhaust Talk

If it was around $1700 would have been interested , sure mbrp any others will come out with one for 2022 model.

I have the Ark Mid pipes but haven't had the time to install them yet to see if they make a sound difference.

I have them on my 2022 they do make them a little louder but not much.

I ran the ark secondaries for awhile before I added a catback system on my 2019, it added some sound/ made it sound less like a hairdryer lol. I’m sure with the 2022 valved catback it will sound even better.

Definitely a little spendy. Here is the audio of how it sounds.

Imho, sounds terrible. Ark midpipe and borla exhaust are a great combo. Or the ultimate performance kit. Make an active exhaust based off those combos and you might have a winner.

This sounds quite different than it did on my 2019. I also don't like the keyfob setup shown in the ebay listing.. yuck! Might have to wait to see what Borla comes up with.

Anybody know if there's a way to modify the existing mufflers to make the "valve open side" actually sound cool?
I know it's possible for a muffler to have an awesome valved side and a super quiet other side because I have a C7 Z06 with an active exhaust and it sounds like a 4 cylinder camry when it's closed and it legit sounds like a blown pushrod V8 should sound when open. Night and Day difference.

On this car I can't even tell when it's open. But I still would like a quiet option for leaving my neighborhood so I don't annoy everybody.
Chevy did an awesome job with the NPP performance exhaust on the Camaro as well. The valved pipe was pretty close to a muffler delete, even though it was housed in the muffler casing:

I'd be really interested to see a cut-away of the 2022 Stinger exhaust, and how the valved pipe is handled inside the casing.

If the aftermarket 2022 valved exhausts end up being super expensive I may go the custom route.

Yeah they did a great job. I'm already thinking about a custom set up myself. I cannot believe how quiet this thing is, can't hear downshifts or anything. I just don't understand why somebody would go to the trouble and expense of making a valved system and essentially run the valve side through the full muffler such that it ends up sounding 4% louder when open.
It's like nobody tested the thing and said, "you guys realize it's no louder right?"

Would say less than 10% louder with them open not really looking for something loud more for the performance with larger pipes.

So basically for sound the midpipes arent very useful. Im sure there is a tad bit of performance and weight savings though so they are still good for something. Im really hoping for 2022 companies start offering systems with real tips too, that has been another huge obstacle for us stinger owners.

Did u end up finding any tips for your Borla Set up on your 2022? I just had my Borla installed on my 2022 and will need to quiet the drone

I pulled the N19 fuse on it though...so it stays "open" all the time...it's really not that loud, as in it's not mustang GT350/500 loud or anything near that and it doesn't drone, so I like it with the fuse-pull a little better.

Just a heads up to all! I've received my 2nd Gen Jun BL EVC exhaust, and will be doing a HUGE write-up on it. I'll be doing the installation on Saturday and I am first going to test the stock exhaust with the Jun BL secondary downpipes before adding in the rest of the catback. I suspect this will be popular choice for a lot of people if it turns out that it drastically improves the sound.

I have yet to poke my head underneath my '22 so I'm not fully aware of what I'm in for just yet but I suppose that's part of the fun! Another interesting question I'll be looking for is whether or not it will be possible to merge the two systems such that the Jun BL valves will open when switching to Sport mode.

Anyway, I will hopefully have everything written up and recorded by Sunday evening!

Is the 2nd Gen designed specifically for 2022 model? and if so you have link?

It is not. The only difference that I am aware of is that the valves are now wirelessly controlled by a keyfob, rather than a switch that is drilled in to the OBD2 cover.

I do see this as a win though, because with the previous version of the exhaust, people would leave the valves open and the pneumatic line would lose pressure and the valves would seize up - so it was recommended that you close the valves each time you park. Hopefully, now that they're electric, this problem is gone. AND there is one less line to run lol. That being said, I will miss that little switch though - it was so satisfying to flip. The keyfob looks pretty dumb.

I got mine from K8: Kia Stinger 3.3T - Jun Bl EVC Catback Exhaust System

So as far as I am aware there is currently no exhaust systems made for the 2022 model. Feel free to chime in if you are aware of one. That brings me to my question, I know the cat less secondary down pipes still fit the 2022s so has anyone put those on with the stock valved exhaust? If so how did you like it? I personally love having the option to close and open the valves, so getting secondary or primary downpipes seems like the only option us 2022 owners have so far.
did you guys get the Variable Exhaust software update? i did recently from the dealership and it sounds awesome in sport mode now.

the what? is it just boosting the pumped in audio? if so, I have that disabled lol
code bsa468 variable muffler operation logic improvement
