2021 Genesis G80 foreshadows next gen Stinger

I'm very interested how the G80 Sport will look with that design language. As it is, it looks good, and it may be the specific specs of that car they're using, but this thing screams old man on the inside.

Very nice but not quite all the way there for me;)

Holy grillework, Batman! I don't like that steering wheel at all. A fastback not a hatchback, just for sporty profile purposes, like the redesigned Optima (K5). It's still just a trunk. The K5 is better looking, especially in the rear lights. This car's rear lights are boring; no imaginative flare to them at all. It is elegant, but in a staid way.

They did a very nice job on getting their own look together, starting with the recently released GV80. The overall look is great, in my eyes. The dash area is uncluttered and simply laid out. KIA needs to take the K9 to this level of luxury. Love it. Here is an english walk around video:

I think it's beautiful and really looks the part. Extremely luxurious looking inside and out. Not something I'm very interested in because I prefer sport over luxury but I'm curious what they do with the sport model of the G70 after the refresh.

A very impressive car. Hope to test drive one once they get released on the US.
It is Definitely encouraging see the 3.5TT on these. Hopefully Kia follows through with it on the Stinger.

The interior is gorgeous.

Actually pretty tempting. If there's a bit more rear leg room, and the other parts like wheels/tires can be moved over, may have to consider this. Genesis dealers are supposed to be night and day compared to Kia.

The K9/K900 is already on this level of luxury (in some ways surpassing the G90).

Note how the center console is wrapped in leather w/ a padded area for the knee.

Don't think there's much that Kia needs to do to the interior when the K9/K900 gets its F/L, but the underwhelming sheetmetal could use a major overhaul.

Otoh, would be great if the Stinger's interior would be even 60-70% of the K9/K900's interior when it comes to luxury.

Man, that Kia logo on the steering wheel cover looks so out of place in an interior this premium; and look how much more premium the cover looks than for the one in the Stinger.

There will likely be a more performance-oriented variant later on (remains to be seen if will remain being called the Sport or something else).

Most Genesis dealers are Hyundai dealers.

Right - but they're supposed to have a better response to Genesis owners, including Genesis loaners, etc.. Guys on here are getting Fortes and Rios as loaners..

my dealership treats me well! better than the stories Ive seen on here. And all dealers selling Genesis are soon to be required to standalone, so the 'genesis dealers are hyundai dealerships' statement will not be true much longer.

Of course COVID throws this all up in the air in terms of timelines

^ Actually, Genesis is not able to do that due to various state franchise laws - which is why Genesis had to abandon the original plan of having 100 Genesis dealerships and allow all Hyundai dealerships the option of obtaining a Genesis franchise.

That's the reason why Lincoln hasn't been able to force all its dealerships to build stand-alone stores.

The higher volume Genesis dealerships will build stand-alone stores once the Genesis lineup gets filled out (3 CUVs coming), but the smaller dealerships will likely make do w/ building a separate showroom (whether that be a separate building or not).

Can see a # of the 350 or so current Genesis dealerships folding due to the effects or the pandemic.

Only until 2024: Genesis Gets Its Dealers In Order As Brand Prepares Broader Product Portfolio

but with everything going on right now, who knows anymore. All plans up in the air now I imagine
