So when is latest news scoop coming out?.. Improvements, price, colors, rebates.. Etc...

I hope they discontinue the Stinger and for those of us that have it, it will be a unique and rear car. This will make the car hold its value and be a rarity like the 93-98 Toyota Supra 2JZ.

I am hanging on for the 2019 model. I want a white GT2, RWD, with a red interior. I am also hoping for the 360 degree camera, wireless charging pad, and UVO luxe.

Nothing factual yet but the 2019 version lunched in Korea shows a few improvements, not sure what other markets will get those features. The limited edition Stinger Atlantica seems to have been cancelled so they may just bring that exterior/interior color as a new choice to the current crop. Maybe they will wait until the end of the year to switch over. Maybe one of our dealer folks can chime in with some factual info.

I didn't know the Atlantica had been cancelled. That's a bummer. I loved the look of it and probably would have strongly considered it except for the AWD.

No significant change on the 2019 version. Just one thing, that now the transmission will hold the gear on sport mode. Rather than shifting when it hits red line, like the current generation.

You will be better off buying it in Canada and driving it back.

Well crap. Went to kia.ca and I could get the color combo I want AND the 360 camera, but no RWD.

Maybe since there is no significant change for 2019, I can get a deal on a 2018 once the 2019's come out.

Over here someone told about a Display with smaller Frame. Also i read something about Ambient Light which we don’t have here too.
And whats sure - 10 HP less because
of Filter System like Diesels Need for the Exhaust.

Glad I got mine already. The new tariffs will be a bi**h.
Kia Stinger
Base price: $33,000 to $52,000
Post-tariff price: $39,000 to $62,000
Who comes out ahead? Acura, Lincoln

KIA
Hyundais and Kias are great values, right? That hard-earned reputation could change with stiff duties on the South Korean brands’ imports, as opposed to models they build here in the Deep South. The Kia Stinger earned an (imported) boatload of critical love last year, a sophisticated, affordable alternative to Audi’s A7, A5/S5 Sportbacks, and other German rides. Ah, but what if you had to pay $6,000 to $10,000 more for the Stinger? Forget it, right? Buyers might seek American-made alternatives, despite a lack of truly direct competitors: An Ohio-built Acura TLX, perhaps? A 2019 Lincoln Nautilus sedan? A Buick Tour X wagon might be the closest fit, but oops, that one's actually built in Germany, and subject to any import tax, despite GM's Detroit headquarters address. For Buick, there’s always China, where they already produce and sell the bulk of their cars. Hey, has anyone really thought this tariff plan through?

Hell no. Do it my way or the highway. I'm for no tariffs, free trade. Compete if you can.

That would suck big time, the Germans that are already expensive will be even more so, KIA would still be a bargain. In another thread about incentives, someone mentioned there seemed to be more 2018s in the system which would be a good thing, if they were already here and were held to be repainted or have issues fixed prior to being released. I heard that the 2019s might not come until the end of the year, but nothing’s for sure at this point.

I asked Kia on Facebook, they told me there won‘t be big changes ..
if it comes like You say (i can’t find any information about this ?)
Then this is no Option any more.. The old price is already high - for 10.000 more there has to be way more changes ..
uhm.. and now i am a Bit confused.. do You mean duty because of politics ? Then this Would Effect only the US, or ? Maybe my english is not good enough and i understand that text wrong, then im sorry

Edit: found your article - okay, has to do with Politics and that shouldnt Hit other countries - But that Would really Suck :(

From the Korean website....slotted rotors! But it's probably false advertising. IMO, the Stinger should've came with drilled or slotted rotors.

That disengage feature saved my ass yesterday! I forgot I was in manual gate on my first-ever LC attempt. And therefore, instead of shifting I redlined in 1st gear and the RPMs died off instantly. Thanks Kia! I got a second chance instead of breaking me car!

SEOUL (The Korea Herald/ANN) - Trade minister extends outreach to Washington, underlines mutual benefits of bilateral free trade deal.

The South Korea government has delivered its opposition to the Trump administration’s gestures to up tariffs on imported cars, claiming the current trade conditions are mutually beneficial and imposing tariffs may negatively boomerang on the US economy, according to Seoul’s Trade Ministry on Sunday.

Reflecting the growing anxiety of the local auto industry, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Paik Un-gyu visited Washington last week to deliver Seoul’s stance on the issue to the related US politicians and business representatives.

On Sunday, the nation’s largest carmaker Hyundai Motor delivered a letter to the US Department of Commerce saying if the US imposes 25 percent tariffs on imported cars, it will increase Hyundai’s annual production costs in the US by 10 percent. This will ultimately reduce the firm’s profitability, car sales and thus related jobs in the US.

-quite honestly, tariffs or not, i would not have considered any of the alternatives that have been listed. if i was going to pay an extra 6-10 grand because of tariffs, i would have just bought another caddy cts-v. or another mustang, or what-not. lincoln is a no-go, buick ( i know its made in germany) is fugly as all get out and the acura tlx is an overblown honda with a nice interior. and even that isn't as nice as it used to be. i was discussing this with another forum member last night, there isn't anything comparable in this price range, once you add 10 grand to the mix, it becomes harder, but nothing american made comes close to the practicality, so there really isn't a question to be answered. or..get a truck.

You would have been fine either way, the rev limiter is there to save you from blowing up your engine. While I wouldn't suggest it, you could sit there and peg it off the rev limiter for 30 minutes straight and your engine should be fine.

@Doel: What do I know? Practically nothing, about almost everything. Since getting this car, I am turning into a middle aged car guy (I will never know enough to become a car Geek; but ask me about medieval warfare/history, and I can geek out).
