• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

2019 Map Update now available online

Do you have a MY18 or MY19? I have the update for a MY19 and could put it up somewhere for download.
Hey Adam,
NZ update may not be the same as AUS, Just guessing they'd be different given you appear to be from over the ditch.
Welcome to the fray (forum), Pop your location in ya profile champ

Best way to check is the SD card will have a folder structure from the root
.\data\nation\AUS - for Australian Update version.

I used the Australian version to update my car: there isn't a NZ one (says AUS map, software, firmware). If you zoom your nav view over the ditch to NZ you will see our cities and streets.

this website is horrible to use, it says ive downloaded the maps and i haven't so now i cant find where to download it again

As much as I hate to say it, just let the dealer do it when the service is done or take it in to get done as its free and takes about 30 mins to update. Then there is no hassles like i have been reading.

I here in US there is version 13. Anyone with access confirm this?

Sorry thought that was what' you were asking
It’s ok every country has differing updates and numbers. At present it appears Oz is on version.12.47. I’m just curious as to if there had been another in the last few weeks.

Logged in and confirm 12.47 is the latest.

Anyone updated their maps in AU, did you retain your saved and previous addresses in nav after update? Do we need to export them out before that?

The new update changed the home screen layout a tiny bit ... and I am liking the minor change to the media window section (top right). Android-Auto now shows elapsed time for the song playing Perhaps one of these days they might allow us to FF and RW, but that might actually be a spotify thing, i.e. like that sames app's inability to display the album art on home screen consistently?

Still no bleeding speed limit chime. The visual one is useless.

If the dealer has done an update for you in the past, then it may be against their email address and password. Should be able to get that changed though. If they haven't then contact the web site or KIA to get it sorted out.

I was told there are 7 years of free updates with all Stingers sold in Australia to match the warranty period of the car. Don't see why anyone would be different.

I'll have a play with the SD car tomorrow, I've done the update OK, it doesn't appear to be tied or branded to a VIN number, that being the case then a simple copy of an updated SD card should also update your maps, if you know someone in the area with a Stinger.
Its actually 10yrs free map updates :)

Heres a link to video on what to do re: Map updates etc...cheers

I've had a few instances when, after starting the car, there's no audio from the stereo. This seems to be a well-known bug in Kia's infotainment system. Sadly, it looks like this update hasn't fixed it, as it did it again yesterday for the first time since I did the latest update. The workaround is still to disable the QuantumLogic surround sound, which is easy enough but still a pain.
