2019 Kia Stinger GT

Has anybody had problems with inside rims of their wheel being dented from potholes etc.. we had our Stinger serviced recently and were told that the rims were dented on the inside and we had to have them repaired at a cost of $960 NZ

Sorry can’t help you there. Never heard of this. Were they big pot holes. Welcome to the forum by the way.

i've not heard of people with this issue on specifically stingers.. but i've had a couple friends who have bent the inner part of their wheels being bent from potholes on other cars, specifically a 2019 330i with 19's and a tesla model 3 with sport wheels...

Welcome to the forum. That's a first. But now that we're talking about it, why would wheels get damaged rims on the outside and not on the inside? Why is inside rim damage a rare thing?

Will have my front left checked tomorrow when my 20K service is to be done. Nasty pothole in the southern lane on a temporary sealed road just North of Paekakariki which I have hit twice - some people never learn!!!!

Firstly welcome to the forum.
It has been approximately 2 months since i got my wheels repaired at the local tyre place here in Australia, i hit the nastiest pothole ever, it was on a downhill decent in my area, tyres deflated within 3 seconds of impact.

You can look for a wheel repair place, they will simply heat the wheel and try to bend it back within tolerance where it is as new, or you can fork out the dough for new one. It cost me $150 per wheel to get them repaired, but i had 3 wheels in need of care so they gave me a better price.

I have heard of people forking out atlease $1200 down under for a new wheel!!!

That sounds more like a crater than a pothole.

A friend of mine had a Ferrari wheel repaired for $500. This was a deal, since ONE wheel new would cost $3,000; but for double that price, Ferrari would sell him a full set of four wheels.
